The Finest Beach Days Lie Ahead in this Oceanfront Condo
Any OBX repeat vacationer can tell you that Nags Head is one of the most up-and-coming and newly developed towns on our handsome strip of barrier islands. There's no better way to see what all the hype is about than from 'Dunes Watch': an immensely handsome 2 bedroom, 2 bath oceanfront condo in the Dune Lanterns Condos in the heart of Nags Head! Spend your afternoons laying out on the sandy beach, that's basically your front yard, as the kids splash around in the waves. In the evenings, gather the family around the home's indoor fireplace, sharing laughs and making memories to carry everybody for years -- or at least until you come back next year!

Upon entering Dunes Watch, the first things you may notice are the living room's coastal decor and wall art, painted with exhilarating pastel colors, instantly bringing the room to life with a bright, shoreline ambiance as a part of this charming beachfront home! Various shades of sienna and beige on the front door, kitchen cabinets, floor, and marbled countertop complement the sandy view through the sliding glass doors -- delightfully contrasted by the aqua of the Atlantic. Appreciate your morning cup of coffee with a side of ocean breezes or bring in the evening with a cool drink as you watch the moon rise up over the water. The kitchen and dining room offer plenty of seating for everybody, between the 4 stools at the bar and the 4 chairs at the round table. Can't use any vacation days during your stay? Then work from home, when you need to, from the nook and office desk beside the fireplace! The covered deck overlooking the beach has plenty of seating for everybody in your group. There's even another table and 3 chairs, so you can appreciate breakfast and coffee while soaking in the morning sea breeze.

The master bedroom features a king bed, a TV, plenty of dresser space, and direct access to the covered deck! You'll surely adore the cavernous and striking marbled shower in the master bathroom. The second bedroom is decorated in bold blues and reds -- making it unique from the lighter colors in the rest of the home. It has two full-size beds and a TV. The second bathroom has a shower/tub combo and also holds the laundry closet, complete with a stackable washer/dryer.

Plenty of Attractions Await in close by Nags Head
If you start to crave more adventure than lying on the beach can provide, venture down to the Nags Head location of Kitty Hawk Kites! They offer tons of water sports and activities including stand-up paddleboarding, jet ski units, hang gliding, kiteboarding, and more. If open water isn't your thing, you can hike the trails and see the pretty flora in Nags Head Woods Nature Preserve, just a few miles away. Don't forget about a place where “adventure” is in the name at First Flight Adventure Park: a high-flying zipline, rope, and obstacle course right in Nags Head! You and the kids will have the time of your lives putting and racing at Mutiny Bay Adventure Golf & Full Throttle Speedway, also located close by.

Head over to Miller's Waterfront Restaurant for the tastiest seafood lunches and dinners in Nags Head! If you opt to prepare at home, grab your ingredients from The Fresh Market or 2 Food Lion locations, located close by. Tips and Tricks to get the perfect Nags Head vacation property experience:

Money saving strategies:

  • Summer is high season in the Nags Head area. Booking your vacation rental in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons is our best tip for saving money on your vacation home. Rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of desirable properties. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to book a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the Summer. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Nags Head vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with loved ones at your favorite beach.
  • Reserve your vacation rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules usually become available 12 months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many families reserve their Summer rental homes during holiday gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • Some hosts offer promotional rates for veterans. Ask your host or property manager if special discounts are available for your family before you book.
  • Booking websites typically offer renters an option to add vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which will generally cost 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any days missed as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for program terms and fees.
  • Find a copy of your local visitors guide when you check-in. If your rental doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great articles, travel guides contain deals for local tours and attractions.

Planning and choosing your Nags Head rental home:

  • Start by choosing vacation dates and a budget.
  • Decide how many bedrooms and the configuration your group needs. DL104 Dune's Watch * Oceanfront has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Precise details about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is commonly accessible on booking websites. If not, call the property owner before booking your home. Remember that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds in living rooms.
  • Visiting for a single event? Try a map search to locate nearby rentals.
  • Proper accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for guests with disabilities. Make certain to inquire about wheel chair accessibility, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
  • Some properties allow pets, and others do not. Allowable types of family pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and additional costs may apply. Ask the property manager about allowable breeds and types before booking.

Additional considerations:

  • Add the host's phone number to your phone. Take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
  • To ensure that damages aren't linked to your stay, inspect the rental for any problem areas upon check in. Make contact with the property manager immediately to document any damages. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having a record of concerns and contact attempts will be helpful.
  • Property managers are there to help! Don't be shy to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Don't forget to respect your neighbors. Often, adjacent homes are occupied by local residents. Respecting late-night noise limits and parking regulations reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Locals can typically point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to take kids for a treat, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for bird watching?
  • Ensure you protect the owner (and your stuff!) by locking the rental when you are away, just like you would at home.
  • Double-check every room of the rental property to make sure that you've packed all personal items on check-out day. Check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Go through the property one final time and look for damages to contents or the property itself. We suggest inspecting the property with the property manager whenever possible. If the property manager isn't available, ensure that you take video and pictures of the property to record its condition.
  • After your trip, leave feedback! Property owners rely on great ratings to compel new bookings. They'll be much obliged for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other vacationing families will appreciate that you share your experience and help them have the best future vacation. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to remedy it.
