Our top Nags Head rental home booking tips:

Finding the best rental home value:

  • Reserve your rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules generally open twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many families book their Summer vacations during Winter holiday get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • Summer is the most expensive season in the Nags Head area. To get the best value, change your family's Nags Head trip dates to the Spring or Fall seasons. May, September, and even October offer warm weather, fewer crowds, and reduced traffic. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Nags Head vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with family and friends at your favorite beach.
  • Owners sometimes offer discounts for veterans. Check with your property manager to see if special discounts are available for your family before you book.
  • Property managers usually offer customers an option to buy vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally will cost you between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for program terms and fees.
  • Often, property management companies and vacation rental houses supply Nags Head area travel guides which will include coupons, either offered independently by local companies, or through a relationship between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Nags Head area magazine and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.

Selecting the best rental home in the Nags Head area:

  • First, have your group choose dates and a maximum budget.
  • Determine how many bedrooms and the configuration your group needs. K1201 This is it. MP 16, ELEVATOR, Ocean Views! has 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.
  • Precise information about bedrooms and bed counts is almost always accessible on booking pages. If you don't see them listed, email or call the property manager before you reserve your rental. Note that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull-out couches.
  • If your group is bringing pets, search for a pet-friendly rental. Get specifics on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Often, hosts charge additional pet fees.
  • Are you visiting for a single event or attraction? If so, use a map search to browse nearby rentals.
  • Suitable accessibility can make or break a vacation for guests with disabilities. .

Some things to know before you go:

  • Get the host's contact number and check in/check out procedures for your rental.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a garage door opener, television set or appliance. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief phone call prevents many difficulties.
  • Lock your vacation home while you are out. Protect the owner's property and your things!
  • During check-in, note any damages to the rental property and immediately contact the owner. Record all correspondence in case a dispute arises.
  • Respect the neighborhood. Frequently, nearby homes are filled by permanent residents. Respecting quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Local residents can often help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to find the best bike paths, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
  • Double-check the property to make sure that you've packed all personal items at check-out. Remember to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Inspect the rental a final time and scan for damage. We suggest inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the property manager isn't available, take photos of the property to record its condition.
  • Leave a review! Hosts rely on good ratings to inspire new bookings. They'll be thankful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other vacationers will appreciate that you share your review and help them have the best future vacation. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to remedy it.
