Our top Rental booking tips and tricks:

Sticking to a rental budget:

  • To book the largest vacation home within your budget, we highly recommend reserving in Fall or Spring months. You'll enjoy lower rental rates, better selection, beautiful weather and the absence of giant crowds at local restaurants, tours, and activities.
  • Reserve your vacation home as soon as possible. Rental schedules usually open twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many groups reserve their Summer vacation rentals during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective host if your vacationing group qualifies for a special promotion or discount.
  • Property managers often offer renters an option to obtain trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which usually will cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for additional information.
  • Often, property management companies and vacation rental houses supply Nags Head area visitors guide magazines which include money-saving offers, either offered independently by local businesses, or through a partnership between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Nags Head area magazine and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
