It even comes with a waste station and a red fire hydrant!

Updates for 2025 include all-new siding, entry and slider doors, windows, and a new outdoor shower. The decks, railings, and exterior stairs have been power washed and stained, as well!

How to get the best rental experience:

Cost saving strategies:

  • Summertime is high season in the Nags Head area. To get the largest rental for your budget, we suggest reserving in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons. You'll benefit from lower rental rates, better selection, warm weather and the absence of giant crowds at the beach and popular Nags Head attractions. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the high season. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Nags Head vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with family and friends at the beach.
  • Book your rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules usually open 12 months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many families book their Summer rentals during Thanksgiving and Christmas gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • Property management companies sometimes offer special rates for veterans and active duty military. Check with your property manager to see if discounts are available for your group.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners frequently offer renters an option to add trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for program terms and fees.
  • Many property management companies and vacation rental houses supply Nags Head area visitor guides that include coupons, either offered independently by local companies, or through a relationship with the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Nags Head visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.

Selecting the perfect vacation home:

  • To start, have your family decide on the best dates and a max budget.
  • Decide how many beds and the bed configuration you need. Pet-friendly semi-oceanfront home w/ pool, hot tub, rec room & ocean views! has 6 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Nags Head vacation rental search.
  • Specific information about bedrooms and bed counts & types is almost always available on booking pages. Otherwise, contact the property manager before reserving the vacation home. Note that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which often includes pull-out couches. You'll need to establish which bed configuration is suitable for your family.
  • Looking for unique amenities? Most rental search websites include search filters for amenities.
  • Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with a disability. Confirm all necessary amenities are included before booking.
  • Are you bringing the family pet? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Ask your host before booking, and study your agreement thoroughly! Additional pet fees or could be applied to your agreement.

Additional considerations:

  • Add the owner's information to your phone. Print and take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
  • Document any issues with the rental upon arrival, and immediately e-mail them to the host. We specifically recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that can be helpful if there is a dispute.
  • Hosts are great sources of help! Feel free to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Respect the neighborhood. Often, nearby homes are filled by permanent residents. Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can often help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to take kids for a treat, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for shopping?
  • Keep your rental home locked while you're gone! Don't let crooks ruin your family vacation.
  • Re-check the vacation property to confirm that you've packed all of your family's items at departure. Remember to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Inspect the rental a final time and look for any damage. We suggest walking through with the property manager whenever you can. If the host is not available, remember to take photos of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
  • Leave feedback! Hosts rely on excellent reviews to stimulate future bookings. They'll be grateful for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other vacationers will will be grateful for your review and help them have the best future vacation. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to fix it.
