Tips and Tricks to get the best Nags Head rental home experience:

When to go & When to reserve a Nags Head rental home:

  • Booking in Fall or Spring is our best tip for saving money on your vacation rental. Rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of acceptable properties.
  • Book your vacation rental as early as possible. Rental schedules often open twelve months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many families book their Summer rental homes during Christmas and Thanksgiving gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • Property managers sometimes offer rate reductions for active duty military and veterans. Remember to ask your property manager if rate reductions are available for your family before you book.
  • Booking websites often offer guests an option to purchase trip insurance. Trip insurance, which usually will cost you anywhere between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for specifics.
  • Often, rental management companies and vacation rental houses supply Nags Head area visitors guides which will include coupons, either offered directly by local companies, or through a relationship between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Nags Head area magazine and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.

Selecting the perfect vacation home in the Nags Head area:

  • Start by choosing the best vacation week and a budget.
  • Determine how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration you need. Sea Spray: Great ocean views, private walkway to beach, private pool. has 6 bedrooms and 5 bathrooms.
  • Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is generally available on booking websites. Otherwise, call the property owner before you book the property. Remember that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds and bunks. You will need to determine what configuration is right for your trip.
  • Are you visiting for a specific attraction? Use a map search to find nearby properties.
  • Appropriate accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for the less-mobile. .
  • Remember to include your furry companions! Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Make sure to ask before booking, and study your agreement thoroughly! Extra fees or may be applied to your agreement.

Have a fantastic stay:

  • Take a copy of the host's contact number and entry/exit procedures for your rental home. We recommend storing the manager's information in your smartphone.
  • To make sure that no damages are linked to your visit, inspect the property for any problem areas during check in. E-mail the host immediately to document any damages. If there is a dispute, having a record of issues and contact attempts will be very helpful.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a garage door opener, A/V setup or thermostat. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief call can prevent a lot of problems.
  • Respecting quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay more pleasurable. You'll magnify your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors can be an incredible resource to find the best local restaurants, beaches, and hangouts.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Residents can often help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to grab the best tacos, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for crabbing?
  • Lock your rental property while you are gone! Don't let burglars ruin your family vacation.
  • Re-check every room of the vacation property to make sure that you've packed everything at departure. Remember to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Record a video to document the condition of the property.
  • Did your family have a great stay? Most rental websites make it easy for customers to provide comments. If your rental property and/or property manager was wonderful, they would love to hear it. If anything was amiss and they failed to address it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.
