How to book the best Nags Head vacation home experience:

Getting the best value:

  • Summertime is high season in Nags Head. To get the best value, change your vacation to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and October offer pleasant weather, , and reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to book a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during June, July, and August. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Nags Head vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with loved ones at the beach.
  • In the Nags Head area, The earlier you can reserve a vacation home, the easier your search will be. The best vacation homes are booked early. Reserving your rental six to twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to search for and book your rental.
  • Some hosts offer discounts or promotional rates for active duty military and veterans. Remember to ask your host or property manager if discounts are available for your group.
  • Booking websites often offer their guests an option to purchase trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for specifics.
  • Find a copy of your local Nags Head visitors guide upon arrival. If your rental home doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great local stories, travel guide magazines have offers and deals for local tours and attractions.

Selecting the best vacation home in the Nags Head area:

  • Select a group lead, choose your trip dates, and select a spending budget.
  • Decide how many beds and the bed configuration your family needs. K1092 Carolina Sunshine, 7 Bedroom, Oceanfront, Private Pool, Hot Tub has 7 bedrooms and 8 bathrooms.
  • Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is usually available online. If they are not listed, contact the property management company before you reserve your rental. Note that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which usually includes pull-out couches and bunk beds.
  • Visiting for a specific attraction or event? Use a map search to find nearby rentals.
  • Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for those with limited mobility. Confirm all required amenities are included before reserving a rental
  • If your group is vacationing with pets, you'll need to find a pet-friendly rental. Ask for specifics on breed, size, and type restrictions. Be aware that some hosts charge pet deposits and fees.

Considerations for your stay:

  • Review arrival and departure procedures before traveling. Take a printed copy, and save the directions to your phone.
  • To ensure that no damages are linked to your family's stay, make note of any problem areas during check in. Speak to the property manager right away to document your findings. If there is a dispute, having a record of problems and contact attempts will be valuable.
  • Property managers are great sources of help! Feel free to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like obnoxious vacationers disrupting your peace and quiet. Apply the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great local food and scenic spots you would have never otherwise known about!
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Local residents can typically help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to grab the best tacos, have a great night out, or the best spots for bird watching?
  • Ensure you protect the property owner (and your stuff!) by locking the property when you are away, just like you would back home.
  • At departure, take a final walk-through to confirm you have not leave anything behind. Re-check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Inspect the rental one final time and look for damage. We recommend inspecting the property with the host whenever you can. If the host isn't available, take photos of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
  • Did your family have a terrific time? Most rental home management companies make it easy for guests to provide feedback. If your property and/or property manager was terrific, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was wrong and they failed to fix it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
