Always Supplied, complimentary linens and made beds! Imagine your cares slipping away while you sway in a rocking chair appreciating the ocean's breeze on the ocean facing wraparound porch! Constructed in 1933 by S.J. Twine, this estate will give you a sense of how things used to be on the OBX while offering the best amenities. The main home retains all the historical features for which the old Nags Head cottages have become famed; the unpainted wood cedar shakes, the lean out porch benches and the propped shutter windows - to name a few, all designed to enhance function over form. Recent updates include a gourmet kitchen, master bath and walk-in master closet. For the young at heart, the garage area features a vintage, classic Foosball table.

Tips and Tricks to get the perfect rental experience:

Sticking to a spending plan:

  • To get the most suitable rental home within budget, we highly recommend reserving in the Fall or Spring. You'll enjoy lower rental rates, greater selection, gorgeous weather and the absence of giant crowds at Nags Head restaurants, beaches, and activities. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Nags Head vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with loved ones at your favorite beach.
  • Book your rental as early as possible. Rental schedules usually open twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many families reserve their Summer rentals during Christmas and Thanksgiving gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective host if your group qualifies for a special rate.
  • Property managers frequently offer renters an option to purchase trip insurance. Trip insurance, which normally will cost 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed days as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for additional information.
  • Often, management companies supply Nags Head area visitors guide magazines that include coupons, either offered directly by local businesses, or by way of a partnership between the management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.

Planning and picking the rightvacation home:

  • Begin by choosing your potential vacation weeks and a spending budget.
  • Nags Head
  • Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is usually accessible on booking pages. If you don't see them listed, contact the property owner before you book your rental. Remember that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which usually includes pull-out couches.
  • Is your family looking for unique amenities? Most websites include search filters for amenities. Use these to your advantage to find the perfect rental home.
  • Appropriate accessibility can make or break a vacation for those with limited mobility. Remember to confirm all required amenities are included before booking
  • Remember to include your furry companions! Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Make sure to ask before booking, and study your agreement thoroughly! Extra fees or may be applied to your contract.

More considerations:

  • Store the manager's information in your smartphone and wallet.
  • Upon check-in, make note of any damages to the rental property and immediately contact the host. Record all correspondence in case a dispute arises.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a fireplace, elevator or washer/dryer. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief text message prevents a lot of issues.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disrespectful vacationers bothering your peaceful home. Apply the golden rule for common sense. If they like you, locals might even recommend great restaurants and places you would have never otherwise known!
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Residents can often point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to grab the best tacos, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
  • Protect the owner (and your things!) by locking the rental while you are away, just like you would back home.
  • Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, take a walk through the property to make sure you've collected all of your things. Make sure to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Walk through the property a final time and scan for damages to contents or the property itself. We recommend inspecting the property with the property manager whenever possible. If the host is not available, remember to take video of the property to record its condition at check-out.
  • After your trip, leave feedback! Hosts rely on great feedback to stimulate future bookings. They'll be much obliged for your review. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other vacationers will be thankful you shared your experience find their best vacation rental. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to fix it.
