Getting the best Nags Head vacation rental experience:

How to get the best rental value:

  • Reserve your rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules often become available 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many groups reserve their Summer vacations during holiday gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • Summer is the most expensive season in the Nags Head area. To book the best vacation home within your budget, we highly recommend reserving in the Fall or Spring. You'll benefit from lower rates, better selection, gorgeous weather and the absence of large crowds at popular Nags Head attractions and restaurants. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unavailable during June, July, and August.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner if your family qualifies for a special rate.
  • Property management companies frequently offer customers an option to buy trip insurance. Trip insurance, which generally costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed vacation time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for details.
  • Many management companies and vacation rental houses supply Nags Head area visitors guides which often include money-saving deals, either offered directly by local businesses, or through a relationship between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Nags Head visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.

Filter your rental search:

  • Begin by selecting potential vacation weeks and a budget.
  • Oceanfront
  • Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is normally accessible on booking websites. If they are not listed, contact the property manager before you reserve the home. Remember that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds.
  • Are you traveling with furry, four-legged family members? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Make sure to ask before booking, and study your rental agreement! Additional fees or costs could be applied to your invoice.
  • If there's a certain Nags Head destination you love, browse rentals that are either near by, or those that cater to your desires.
  • Proper accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for the less-mobile. .

Have a great stay:

  • Review check in & check out procedures before traveling. Save the instructions to your phone, and take a printed backup.
  • Hosts are there to help! Don't be shy to ask questions during your stay.
  • Keep the property locked while you're gone! Don't let crooks spoil your family vacation.
  • To ensure that damages aren't attributed to your stay, inspect the rental for any problem areas upon check in. text the host right away to relay any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having a record of concerns and contact attempts will be useful.
  • Be respectful. Frequently, adjacent homes are occupied by local residents. Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking regulations is the right thing to do.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can often help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to grab the best tacos, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fishing?
  • Upon check-out, take a final walk-through to make sure you have not leave anything behind. Remember to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Go through the rental one final time and look for damage. We suggest inspecting the property with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the manager is not available, ensure that you take video of the rental to record its condition.
  • Leave a review! Property owners rely on great reviews to stimulate new bookings. They'll be much obliged for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other vacationers will appreciate that you share your feedback find their best rental home. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to remedy it.
