Nags Head vacation rental home tips:

Money saving strategies:

  • Summer is the most expensive season along the coast of NC. To get the best rental home within budget, we recommend booking in the Fall or Spring. You'll benefit from lower rental rates, better selection, gorgeous weather and the absence of large crowds at popular attractions and restaurants. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Nags Head vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with friends and family at your favorite beach.
  • Reserve your vacation home as early as possible. Rental schedules often open a year in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many families reserve their Summer vacations during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • Hosts and Property managers sometimes offer promotional rates for veterans and active duty military. It's always a good idea to check with your property manager to see if special discounts are available for your group.
  • Property managers frequently offer customers an option to buy vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which will generally cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed trip time as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for program terms and fees.
  • Often, property management companies supply Nags Head area visitor guides which will include money-saving offers, either offered directly by local businesses, or by way of a relationship between the management company and the business itself. You can also find Nags Head visitors guide and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.

How to choose the perfect vacation home in the Nags Head area:

  • Begin by selecting vacation dates and a max budget.
  • Determine how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration you need. Shore Havin' Fun! Pup-friendly PierView Condo with Incredible Views! has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is almost always available on booking pages. If they are not listed, email the host before booking the property. Remember that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds and bunks.
  • Visiting for a single event? Use a map search to browse nearby rentals.
  • Proper accessibility can make or break a vacation for persons with disabilities. Make certain to ask about wheel chair accessibility, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
  • If your group is bringing pets, you must reserve a pet-friendly property. Ask for specifics on breed, size, and type requirements. Often, hosts require additional pet deposits and fees.

More considerations for your visit:

  • We recommend storing the owner's information in your smartphone.
  • To make sure damages are not attributed to your stay, make a record of any problem areas during arrival. E-mail the property manager immediately to record your findings. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having the recorded concerns and contact attempts will be very helpful.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, stereo or kitchen appliance. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief telephone call can prevent a lot of concerns.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like loud vacationers bothering your peaceful neighborhood. Apply the golden rule for best judgement. Happy residents may even recommend great restaurants and places you would've not otherwise known about!
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Residents can typically help. Who better to ask where to take kids for a treat, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
  • Keep the property locked while you're away! Don't let thieves ruin your family vacation.
  • Re-check the rental property to confirm that you've packed all personal items at departure. Check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Please make sure to walk through the rental a final time and scan for damage. We advise walking through with the property manager whenever possible. If the host isn't available, remember to take pictures of the rental to record its condition.
  • Did your family have a excellent time? Most rental management companies make it easy for travelers to provide reviews. If your rental and/or property management company was wonderful, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was inoperable and they failed to address it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
