Finding the best vacation home experience:

Money saving strategies:

  • To book the best rental within budget, we suggest booking in Fall or Spring. You'll benefit from lower rates, greater selection, warm weather and the absence of giant crowds at popular attractions and restaurants.
  • The sooner you can book a rental home, the better your selection will be. The best vacation homes are booked very early. Booking your rental property 6-12 months before your travel dates is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to plan and book your rental property.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property management company or host whether your family qualifies for a discount.
  • Booking websites usually offer their guests an option to buy trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which usually will cost between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed trip time as a result of medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for specifics.
  • Often, rental management companies and vacation rental houses supply Nags Head area visitor guide magazines which often include special offers, either offered independently by local companies, or through a partnership between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Nags Head visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.

Choosing the best vacation rental in Nags Head:

  • Begin by selecting trip dates and a budget.
  • Determine how many beds and the bed configuration your family needs. ? \"The house is perfection—stylish, comfortable + close to the beach.\" has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Precise details about bedrooms and bed counts & types is usually accessible on booking websites. If you don't see them listed, reach out to the property owner before you reserve the vacation home. Remember that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds and bunks.
  • Looking for special amenities? Most rental search websites include search filters with amenity lists. Use these to your advantage to find the perfect rental home.
  • Proper accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. .
  • Some rental properties allow pets, and some don't. Acceptable types of pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and added charges may apply. Ask the property management company about pets before booking.

Some things to know before you go:

  • Get the owner's contact number and arrival/departure procedures for your .
  • To ensure that damages aren't attributed to your family's stay, inspect for any problem areas upon check in. E-mail the host right away to document any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute, having a record of concerns and contact attempts will be valuable.
  • Property managers are great sources of help! Don't be shy to ask questions during your stay.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like obnoxious visitors bothering your life at home. Use the golden rule for common sense. If they like you, locals might even recommend great restaurants and places you would've never otherwise known!
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Local residents can frequently help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to go for the best drinks, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for bird watching?
  • Protect the property owner (and your stuff!) by keeping the rental locked up while you are out, just like you would back home.
  • Re-check every room of the property to confirm that you've packed all of your family's items at check-out. Check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Please make sure to walk through the rental a final time and look for any damage. We suggest inspecting the property with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the property manager isn't available, remember to take video of the property to record its condition at check-out.
  • Did your group have a terrific vacation? Most rental management companies make it easy for clients to provide feedback. If your property and/or property manager was terrific, they would love to hear it. If anything was imperfect and they failed to fix it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.
