Booking the best Nags Head rental experience:

Getting the best value:

  • Summer months are high season in the Nags Head area. To find the best value, consider shifting your group's vacation to the Spring or Fall seasons. May, September, and even October offer warmer temperatures, less crowded beaches, and reduced traffic. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Nags Head vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with family and friends at the beach.
  • In the Nags Head area, The sooner you can book a rental home, the easier your search will be. The best rental homes are booked early. Booking your vacation rental 6-12 months before your vacation dates is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to plan and reserve your vacation rental.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager if your vacationing group qualifies for a price reduction or discount.
  • Property managers frequently offer their guests an option to add vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which costs between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed trip time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for more information.
  • Find a copy of your local Nags Head visitors guide upon checking in. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great local information, travel guide magazines have discounts for nearby tours and attractions.

Make a plan and pick your prefectrental home:

  • Select your vacation week and max budget.
  • Decide how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your group needs. OBX Short term End of Aug 4 \/5 NIGHTS has 6 bedrooms and 6 bathrooms.
  • Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is almost always accessible on booking pages. If you don't see them listed, call the property owner before booking the property. Advice for a great stay:

  • Take a copy of the host's phone number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental home. Store the manager's contact information in your smartphone.
  • Upon arrival, note any issues with the rental property and immediately alert the host. Keep records of all coorespondence.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a hot tub, elevator or coffee maker. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief text message prevents a lot of issues.
  • Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You will enhance your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are an excellent resource to find the best local scenic spots.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Local residents can often help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to rent beach equipment, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
  • Keep your rental home locked while you are gone! Don't let thieves spoil your family vacation.
  • On check-out day, take a final walk-through to confirm you have not leave anything behind. Re-check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Inspect the rental one final time and scan for any damage. We advise inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the host is not available, ensure that you take video and pictures of the rental to record its condition.
  • Did your group have a excellent time? Most rental websites make it easy for clients to provide feedback. If your property and/or property management company was terrific, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was inoperable and they failed to fix it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.
