Our top Nags Head vacation rental home tips and tricks:

Finding your perfect rental:

  • Summer months are high season in Nags Head. Booking your vacation rental in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons is an excellent way to save on your vacation rental. Rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of desirable homes.
  • Reserve your vacation rental as early as possible. Rental schedules usually open 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many families reserve their Summer rental homes during Winter holiday gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • Some property management companies offer discounts for veterans and active duty military. It's always a good idea to check with your property manager to see if special offers are available for your family.
  • Property management companies frequently offer guests an option to buy trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost you anywhere between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed days as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for more information.
  • Often, rental management companies supply Nags Head area travel guide magazines which will include money-saving deals, either offered independently by local companies, or through a partnership between the management company and the business itself. You can also find Nags Head visitors guide and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.

Planning and picking the rightvacation home:

  • Start by having your family agree to the best dates and a spending budget.
  • Determine how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your family requires. Charming Pet Friendly Oceanfront Nags Head Rental has 6 bedrooms and 6 bathrooms.
  • Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is often available on booking pages. Otherwise, contact the property manager before reserving the rental. Remember that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds and bunks.
  • If there's a certain Nags Head destination you are enamored with, look for properties that are either near by, or those that cater especially to your desires.
  • Proper accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Confirm all necessary amenities are included before booking
  • Remember to include your furry companions! Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Ask your property manager before booking, and study your agreement! Additional fees or might be applied to your agreement.

Advice for your stay:

  • Be sure you get the host's phone number and entry/exit procedures for your rental home.
  • At Check-in, document any issues with the rental property and immediately contact the property manager. Record all correspondence just in case a dispute arises.
  • Property managers are great sources of help! Don't be shy to ask questions during your stay.
  • Be respectful. Often times, surrounding homes are occupied by local residents. Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking policies is the right thing to do.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Locals can typically point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to enjoy a steak with a view, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fishing?
  • Keep your rental home locked while you are out! Don't let burglars ruin your family vacation.
  • Double-check the vacation property to make sure that you've packed all personal items at departure. Check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Inspect the rental a final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We recommend inspecting the property with the property manager whenever possible. If the host is not available, remember to take photographs of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
  • Remember to leave feedback! Hosts rely on good reviews to stimulate more bookings. They'll be much obliged for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other families will will be grateful for your review find their best vacation rental. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to solve it.
