Strategies to get the best Nags Head vacation property experience:

When to book a Nags Head rental home & When to go:

  • To find the largest rental home for your budget, we highly recommend booking in Fall or Spring. You'll benefit from lower rental rates, better selection, gorgeous weather and the absence of giant crowds at the beach and popular Nags Head attractions. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the high season. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Nags Head vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with friends and family at your favorite beach.
  • Book your rental as early as possible. Rental schedules usually become available a year in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many families reserve their Summer rental homes during holiday get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner if your vacationing group qualifies for a price reduction.
  • Property management companies usually offer their guests an option to obtain vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which will generally cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for program terms and fees.
  • Many management companies supply Nags Head area visitor guides which will include money-saving deals, either offered directly by local companies, or by way of a partnership between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Nags Head area magazine and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.

Planning and picking your prefect Nags Head rental home:

  • Choose vacation week and budget.
  • Determine how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your group requires. LastMinuteSpecial/OceanFront/Pool/HotTub/XBOXoneS/ping pong table/newlyremodeled has 8 bedrooms and 5 bathrooms.
  • Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is commonly available on booking pages. If not, email or call the host before you book the vacation property. Remember that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which frequently includes pull out couches in living rooms. You will need to establish what is optimal for your group.
  • If there's an individual Nags Head destination you simply love, search for properties that are either close by, or those that cater to your desires.
  • Suitable accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Confirm all required amenities are available and included before reserving a rental.
  • If your group is bringing pets, you'll need to find a property that allows animals. Ask for details on breed, weight, and type requirements. Often, hosts require additional pet deposits and fees.

More tips for your stay:

  • Add the host's contact information to your phone. Understand and take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
  • To ensure that damages are not attributed to your family's visit, make note of any problem areas upon check in. Make contact with the rental manager immediately to report any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having a record of problems and contact attempts will be valuable.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a garage door opener, intercom or washer/dryer. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief telephone call can prevent quite a few issues.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like obnoxious visitors bothering your peaceful home. Use the golden rule for best judgement. Happy residents may even recommend great restaurants and attractions you would've never otherwise known about!
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Locals can often help. Who better to ask where to enjoy a steak with a view, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for bird watching?
  • Lock your vacation home while you are out. Protect the owner's property and your stuff!
  • Re-check the property to make sure that you've packed all of your family's items on check-out day. Check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
  • After your trip, leave feedback! Property managers rely on excellent reviews to propel new reservations. They'll be much obliged for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other families will be thankful you shared your feedback find their best vacation rental. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to solve it.
