How to get the best Nags Head vacation rental experience:

Getting the best rental value:

  • Summertime is high season in Nags Head. To get the best rental home for your budget, we suggest reserving in Spring or Fall. You'll enjoy lower rental rates, better selection, gorgeous weather and the absence of large crowds at the beach and popular attractions.
  • Book your rental as early as possible. Rental schedules often open 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many families book their Summer rental homes during Christmas and Thanksgiving get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective host whether your family qualifies for a discount.
  • Property management companies often offer renters an option to add vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally will cost between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed days as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for additional information.
  • Look for your local Nags Head area magazine when you check-in. If your rental property doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great information, visitor guides have discounts for nearby restaurants, attractions, and tours.

Make a plan and choose the bestrental:

  • Start by selecting your potential vacation weeks and a budget.
  • Decide how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your family requires. Busy Being Fabulous:Oceanfront, private pool, hot tub, rec & theater room, elevator has 8 bedrooms and 9 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our search.
  • Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is usually available on booking pages. If you don't see them listed, contact the property manager before you reserve your rental. • If there's a specific Nags Head destination you long to visit, keep an eye out for properties that are either nearby, or those that cater to your desires.
  • Proper accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for the less-mobile. .
  • If your group is traveling with pets, filter your search for a pet-friendly property. Request information on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Usually, property owners charge additional pet fees.

More tips for your visit:

  • Get the host's contact number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental property.
  • To make sure that damages aren't linked to your stay, inspect the rental for any problem areas during check in. text the rental manager immediately to record any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having a record of concerns and contact attempts will be useful.
  • Hosts are great sources of help! Feel free to ask any questions during your stay.
  • Respecting quiet hours and parking restrictions can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. You will increase your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are usually a great resource to find the best local scenic spots.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Locals can frequently help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to grab the best tacos, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for BBQ?
  • Lock your rental home while you're away. Keep your property safe!
  • Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, take a walk through the rental property to confirm you've collected everything. Check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Record a video to document the condition of the property.
  • Leave feedback! Property owners rely on great reviews to stimulate more bookings. They'll be thankful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other vacationers will be thankful you shared your feedback and help them have the best future vacation. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to fix it.
