Booking the best Nags Head vacation property experience:

Finding the best rental home value:

  • Book your vacation home as early as possible. Rental schedules often become available a year in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many families reserve their Summer vacations during holiday get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months in coastal NC. Reserving a rental home in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons is our best tip for saving money on your vacation rental. Rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of suitable homes.
  • Property management companies sometimes offer discounts for active duty military and veterans. Check with your property manager to see if special discounts are available for your family.
  • Property management companies typically offer customers an option to buy vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for additional information.
  • Many rental management companies supply Nags Head area visitor guides which include coupons, either offered directly by local businesses, or by way of a partnership between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Nags Head area magazine and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.

Planning, picking, and booking a perfectrental home:

  • Choose a group leader, choose your trip dates, and choose a budget.
  • Decide how many beds and the bed configuration you need. K0141 Jockey's Ridge Haven. Semi-Oceanfront, Pool, Cabana, Hot Tub! has 8 bedrooms and 9 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rentals search.
  • Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed types is often available online. If you don't see them listed, email the host before you reserve your rental. Remember that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds and bunks. You'll need to work out what configuration is suitable for your trip.
  • Some properties allow pets, and some don't. Acceptable types of pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and added costs may apply. Ask your host about pet restrictions before booking.
  • If there's an individual Nags Head attraction you are crazy about, browse rentals that are either near by, or those that cater to your needs.
  • Proper accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for the less-mobile. Confirm all necessary amenities are available and included before booking.

Know before you go:

  • Add the property manager's contact info to your smartphone. Take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a hot tub, intercom or WIFI setup. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief telephone call prevents lots of difficulties.
  • Ensure you protect the owner (and your things!) by locking the rental while you are out, just like you would at home.
  • Document any damages to the rental upon arrival, and immediately e-mail them to the property manager. We especially recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain time stamps that are beneficial if damages are assessed.
  • Be a good neighbor. Often, surrounding homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting late-night noise limits and parking regulations can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Local residents can often help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to find the fresh catch of the day, have a great night out, or the best spots for BBQ?
  • Re-check the vacation property to make sure that you've packed everything at departure. Remember to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Record a video to document the condition of the property.
  • After your trip, leave feedback! Property owners rely on good ratings to inspire new bookings. They'll be thankful for your review. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other vacationers will will be grateful for your experience find their best vacation home. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to fix it.
