"Tipsy Mermaid" is aptly named. This marvelous oceanfront property is designed and decorated for a premier vacation experience at a great location! The elevator helps everybody get around the property to savor all activities. The top-level Great Room has bamboo floors, LCD TV, a separate wet bar, and deck access with a great ocean view. The kitchen is impressive and functional with granite countertops, and stainless steel appliances (5-burner stove, 2 ovens, 2 dishwashers, upsized refrigerator, microwave). There is plenty of room for dining together at mealtime. You have two laundry areas so there are 2 washers and 2 dryers for you to use on the property. Quiet moments on the covered porch will find you watching the sunset. There is a mid-level den for watching movies or TV and the ground-level rec room is enough for a crowd. All ages will appreciate the full-size pool table, and the LCD TV for movie nighttime, or catching the big game! Little ones had too much beach? A peaceful afternoon by the pool may be just what the doctor ordered! Evenings in the hot tub can be spent calming while watching the kids play in the pool. You will find the deck walkway to the beach (through your own private dune top deck) helps all to enjoy the beach, or to enjoy watching the action on the beach. Private Pools are open from May 3, 2024 until October 13, 2024 and May 2, 2025 until October 12, 2025. Pool heat is not an option for this property. Hot tubs are available year-round. Fireplace seen in photos is non-functioning and not available for use.

All Outer Banks Blue properties provide bed linens and bath towels for a modest fee added to every reservation. We provide 1 bath towel and washcloth per advertised occupant. We provide 1 hand towel and 1 bar of soap per bathroom sink. We also provide kitchen towels. Beds are made prior to your arrival, and we provide a starter supply of toilet paper, bathroom soap, paper towels, and dishwasher detergent.

Located in Nags Head, this vacation home is on the beach. Wright Brothers National Memorial and Roanoke Marshes Lighthouse are local landmarks, and some of the area's attractions include Destination Fun and Full Throttle Speedway. Traveling with kids? Consider Mutiny Bay Adventure Golf and Stop-N-Shop Beach Shop. Take an opportunity to explore the area for water adventures such as swimming.

Finding your best deal:

  • Book your vacation home as early as possible. Rental schedules usually open a year in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many families reserve their Summer vacations during Christmas and Thanksgiving get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months in the Nags Head area. To get the most suitable vacation home within budget, we strongly suggest reserving in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons. You'll benefit from lower rates, better selection, warm weather and the absence of large crowds at Nags Head restaurants, tours, and activities. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to reserve an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the Summer months.
  • Property management companies sometimes offer special rates for active duty military and veterans. Ask your property manager if special offers are available for your family before you book.
  • Property managers typically offer renters an option to obtain trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for program terms and fees.
  • Many management companies supply Nags Head area visitor guides which include coupons, either offered directly by local companies, or by way of a partnership between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Nags Head area magazine and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.

Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Make sure to ask before booking, and study your agreement thoroughly! Additional fees or costs may be applied to your contract.
  • If there's a certain Nags Head beach you love, keep an eye out for properties that are either near by, or those that cater especially to your requirements.
  • Proper accessibility can make or break a vacation for guests with disabilities. Confirm all necessary amenities are available and included before reserving a rental.

During your stay:

  • Add the host's contact information to your smartphone. Understand and take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, television set or appliance. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief phone call can prevent a lot of problems.
  • Ensure you protect the rental owner (and your things!) by locking the property when you are away, just like you would at home.
  • To make sure damages aren't attributed to your stay, record any problem areas during arrival. E-mail the property manager immediately to report your findings. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having the recorded concerns and contact attempts will be valuable.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disagreeable visitors bothering your quiet neighborhood. Employ the golden rule for common sense. If they like you, locals might even recommend great local food and scenic spots you would've not otherwise known!
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Local residents can often point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to book the best tours, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
  • Just prior to departing, take a walk-through to confirm you have not forget any personal items. Re-check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Go through the property a final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We advise inspecting the property with the host whenever possible. If the manager isn't available, take photographs of the rental to record its condition.
  • Did your family have a great stay? Most rental home management companies make it easy for travelers to provide reviews. If your rental property and/or property manager was wonderful, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was wrong and they failed to fix it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
