Strategies to get the very best Nags Head rental experience:

Finding your perfect rental:

  • Summer months are the most expensive season in the Nags Head area. Book your Nags Head rental in the Spring or Fall to enjoy beautiful weather while saving money and avoiding crowds. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to book a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the high season.
  • The sooner you can reserve a home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable vacation rentals are reserved very early. Reserving your vacation rental up to 12 months before your vacation dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental.
  • Some property management companies offer special rates for veterans and active duty military. Remember to ask your property manager if special discounts are available for your family before you book.
  • Property management companies typically offer customers an option to add vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which generally costs 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for specifics.
  • Often, property management companies supply Nags Head area visitor guide magazines which will include coupons, either offered directly by local companies, or by way of a relationship between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Nags Head visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.

Narrow your rental Search:

  • Begin by choosing a vacation week and a budget.
  • Note the number beds and the bed configuration your group needs. K1148 NautiBuoy; LUXURY Oceanfront, Pool, Hot Tub, Elevator! has 8 bedrooms and 8 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rental home search.
  • Specific details about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is often accessible online. If they are not listed, contact the host before you book the rental. Note that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which typically includes pull-out couches. You will need to establish what is best for your vacation.
  • Does your group require unique amenities? Most websites include search filters with amenity lists. Use these filters to your advantage to find the perfect rental home.
  • Proper accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for guests with disabilities. Make certain to inquire about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
  • If your family is bringing pets, search for a pet-friendly rental. Make sure to ask for information on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Note that some property owners require additional pet deposits and fees.

More considerations:

  • Be sure you get the host's phone number and arrival/departure procedures for your .
  • At Check-in, make note of any issues with the property and immediately alert the host. Record all correspondence just in case a dispute arises.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, elevator or kitchen appliance. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief phone call can prevent many difficulties.
  • Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You'll magnify your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors can be an excellent source for finding the best local beaches and restaurants.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Local residents can often help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to get the best seafood, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fine dining?
  • Protect the owner (and your things!) by keeping the rental locked up when you are out, just like you would at home.
  • Double-check the vacation property to make sure that you've packed all of your family's items on check-out day. Check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Go through the rental one final time and keep an eye out for damages to contents or the property itself. We recommend inspecting the property with the host whenever you can. If the host isn't available, ensure that you take video of the property to record its condition at check-out.
  • Did your group have a fantastic time? Many rental management companies make it easy for guests to provide comments. If your rental and/or host was wonderful, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was wrong and they failed to correct it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
