How to get the best Nags Head rental experience:

When to visit Nags Head & When to book:

  • Booking a rental in the Spring or Fall is a great way to save on your rental home. Rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of suitable homes. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to reserve an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the Summer.
  • Book your vacation home as soon as possible. Rental schedules often open twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many families book their Summer vacation rentals during Thanksgiving and Christmas gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective vacation rental company or host whether your family qualifies for a discount.
  • Property management companies usually offer guests an option to add vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed time as a result of medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for details.
  • Many property management companies supply Nags Head area visitor guide magazines which include money-saving offers, either offered directly by local companies, or by way of a partnership between the management company and the business itself. You can also find Nags Head visitors guide and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.

Selecting the perfect vacation rental in Nags Head:

  • Choose vacation dates and spending budget.
  • Decide how many beds and the configuration your group needs. Eighty-Sea: Ocean View, Community Pool has 4 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms.
  • Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is usually available online. If they are not listed, email or call the host before you reserve the vacation property. Remember that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes pull out couches in living rooms.
  • If there's a specific Nags Head destination you are crazy about, look for homes that are either near by, or those that cater especially to your requirements.
  • Appropriate accessibility can make or break a vacation for guests with disabilities. .
  • Some rentals allow pets, but some do not. Allowable types of family pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and additional fees may apply. Ask the property management company about allowable pet guidelines before booking.

Tips for your stay:

  • Add the property manager's contact info to your phone. Print and take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
  • At Check-in, note any damages to the property and immediately contact the property manager. Keep records of all correspondence just in case a dispute arises.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a garage door opener, intercom or appliance. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief text message can prevent many issues.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disrespectful vacationers bothering your peaceful neighborhood. Employ the golden rule for common sense. If they like you, locals might even recommend great beaches and places you would've not otherwise known about!
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Locals can often help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to get the best seafood, have a great night out, or the best spots for fishing?
  • Protect the owner (and your things!) by locking the property when you are out, just like you would back home.
  • Don't leave anything behind! Before departing, walk through the rental property to make sure you've collected all belongings. Check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
  • After your trip, leave feedback! Property managers rely on great reviews to stimulate new reservations. They'll be grateful for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other vacationing families will be thankful you shared your review and help them have the best future vacation. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to remedy it.
