Tips and Tricks for getting the perfect vacation property experience:

Getting the most from your spending budget:

  • Reserve your rental as early as possible. Rental schedules often become available a year in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many families book their Summer rental homes during holiday get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • To find the most suitable rental home within budget, we strongly suggest booking in Fall or Spring months. You'll enjoy lower rates, better selection, warm weather and the absence of large crowds at popular Nags Head attractions and restaurants. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to reserve an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unavailable during June, July, and August. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Nags Head vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with family and friends at your favorite beach.
  • Some hosts offer discounts for veterans. Remember to ask your property manager if rate reductions are available for your family before you book.
  • Property management companies typically offer guests an option to add trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which generally will cost you anywhere between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed days as a result of medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for program terms and fees.
  • Many property management companies supply Nags Head area travel guide magazines which include money-saving offers, either offered independently by local companies, or by way of a partnership between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.

Narrow your rental Search:

  • Select a designated group leader, choose your vacation dates, and select a budget.
  • Decide how many bedrooms and the configuration your family requires. 363 Dog Friendly Semi-Ocean-Front Rental Home Near Nags Head Pier! has 3 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
  • Specific details about bedrooms and bed counts & types is almost always accessible online. If not, email the property owner before you reserve the home. Remember that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds in living rooms. You will need to establish which bed configuration is optimal for your group.
  • If your group is vacationing with pets, you must reserve a property that allows animals. Get details on breed, weight, and type requirements. Often, hosts charge additional pet fees.
  • Is your family looking for specific amenities? Most rental websites include search filters for amenities. Filtering by amenity will allow you to quickly find your ideal rental.
  • Proper accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for persons with a disability. .

More tips for your stay:

  • Add the host's contact info to your smartphone. Take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
  • Hosts are available to help! Don't be shy to ask questions during your stay.
  • Protect the owner (and your stuff!) by locking and securing the home while you are out, just like you would back home.
  • At Check-in, document any issues with the property and immediately alert the property manager. Keep records of all correspondence in case a dispute arises.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disagreeable visitors disrupting your peaceful neighborhood. Employ the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great restaurants and places you would have not otherwise known!
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Residents can often help. Who better to ask where to go for the best drinks, have a great night out, or the best spots for BBQ?
  • Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, take a walk through the rental to reconfirm you've collected all belongings. Re-check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Go through the rental one final time and look for any damage. We recommend walking through with the host whenever possible. If the manager is not available, take video and pictures of the property to record its condition at check-out.
  • Leave feedback! Hosts rely on excellent feedback to inspire more bookings. They'll be grateful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went awry, other families will be thankful you shared your feedback find their best vacation home. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to remedy it.
