Tips and Tricks to get the very best vacation property experience:

Sticking to your rental budget:

  • In the Nags Head area, The sooner you can book a rental home, the better your selection will be. The most desirable rental homes are reserved very early. Reserving your vacation rental six to twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to search for and book your rental property.
  • Summer is the most expensive season in the Nags Head area. Booking a rental in Fall or Spring is an excellent way to save money on your vacation home. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of suitable homes. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Nags Head vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with family and friends at the beach.
  • Some hosts and property managers offer discounts for veterans and active duty military. Ask your property manager if special offers are available for your group before you book.
  • Property management companies usually offer renters an option to purchase trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which costs between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed trip time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for more information.
  • Many rental management companies supply Nags Head area visitors guide magazines which often include special deals, either offered independently by local companies, or through a partnership between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Nags Head area magazine and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.

Selecting the best rental home in Nags Head:

  • Start by having your group choose dates and a maximum budget.
  • Note the number beds and the configuration your family requires. Seaclusion -- Amazing 7BR Oceanfront in Nags Head with Pool, Hot Tub & Elevator has 7 bedrooms and 6 bathrooms.
  • Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed counts & types is usually available on booking websites. If they are not listed, reach out to the host before booking your rental. Remember that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which often includes pull-out couches. You will need to determine what configuration is best for your vacation family.
  • If your group is vacationing with pets, you'll need to search for a pet-friendly rental. Make sure to ask for information on breed, size, and type requirements. Some hosts charge pet deposits and fees.
  • Are you visiting for a single event? Use a map search to find nearby rentals.
  • Proper accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for the less-mobile. .

Have a fantastic stay:

  • Review check in & check out procedures before traveling. Take a printed copy, and save the instructions to your phone.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, A/V setup or appliance. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief telephone call can prevent lots of difficulties.
  • Lock your rental property while you are away! Don't let thieves spoil your family vacation.
  • Document any damages to the rental during check in, and immediately e-mail them to the host. We specifically recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain time stamps that are very helpful if a dispute is filed.
  • Respecting quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. You'll magnify your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors can be an incredible resource to find the best local beaches and restaurants.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Residents can typically help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to find the fresh catch of the day, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fishing?
  • Upon check-out, take a walk-through to make sure you did not leave anything behind. Check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Inspect the property a final time and scan for damage. We advise inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the host is not available, take video and pictures of the property to record its condition.
  • After your trip, leave feedback! Property managers rely on great ratings to drive new bookings. They'll be grateful for your review. Alternatively, if something went awry, other families will will be grateful for your feedback and help them have the best future vacation. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to remedy it.
