Booking the best Nags Head rental experience:

Find your perfect rental home:

  • In the Nags Head area, The earlier your group can book a rental home, the easier your search will be. The best rental properties are reserved very early. Booking your rental 6-12 months before your travel dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to plan and book your rental property.
  • To get the best value, try shifting your vacation week to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and October offer warm temperatures, fewer crowds, and greatly reduced traffic. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Nags Head vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with family and friends at your favorite beach.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective vacation rental company or host if your vacationing group qualifies for a discount.
  • Property managers typically offer guests an option to add trip insurance. Trip insurance, which costs 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for program terms and fees.
  • Many rental management companies supply Nags Head area visitor guides which will include money-saving offers, either offered directly by local companies, or by way of a relationship between the management company and the business itself. You can also find Nags Head visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.

Use filters to narrow your search:

  • First and foremost, have your group select dates and a budget.
  • Nags Head has 4 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Precise details about bedrooms and bed counts is generally available on booking websites. If not, reach out to the property management company before booking the home. Remember that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which typically includes pull-out couches.
  • If your group is bringing pets, you must book a pet-friendly vacation rental. Ask for specifics on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Often, property managers charge additional pet fees.
  • Is your group looking for unique amenities? Most rental search websites include amenity lists and search filters. Amenity filters help you quickly remove less-optimal properties.
  • Suitable accessibility can make or break a vacation for those with limited mobility. Confirm all necessary amenities are available and included before booking

Know before you go:

  • Get the host's phone number and entry/exit procedures for your rental home.
  • Hosts are great sources of help! Don't be shy to ask any questions during your stay.
  • Keep your rental home locked while you are away! Don't let burglars ruin your vacation.
  • Make a record of any issues with the property at check in, and immediately e-mail them to the property manager. We especially recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that can be beneficial if damages are assessed.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disagreeable visitors disrupting your peaceful home life. Apply the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great beaches and attractions you would've not otherwise known!
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Residents can frequently point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to go for the best drinks, have a great night out, or the best spots for bird watching?
  • Double-check the rental property to confirm that you've packed everything on check-out day. Re-check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
  • Did your family have a wonderful vacation? Most vacation rental websites make it easy for clients to provide reviews. If your rental property and/or host was fantastic, they would love to hear it. If anything was wrong and they failed to address it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.
