Tips to get the perfect Nags Head vacation rental experience:

Cost saving strategies:

  • The earlier your group can book a rental home, the better your selection will be. The best rental homes are booked early. Reserving your rental six - twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to plan and book your vacation rental.
  • Summer is the most expensive season along the coast of NC. Reserve your rental in Fall or Spring to enjoy warm weather while saving money and avoiding crowds. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to book an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the Summer. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Nags Head vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with family and friends at your favorite beach.
  • Some property management companies offer discounts or promotional rates for veterans. Make sure to check with your property manager to see if special discounts are available for your group before you book.
  • Booking websites typically offer guests an option to add vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which will generally cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for specifics.
  • Often, management companies supply Nags Head area travel guides which often include special deals, either offered directly by local businesses, or through a relationship between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Nags Head visitors guide and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.

Make a plan and pick a perfectvacation home:

  • Choose a group leader, choose your vacation week, and choose a maximum budget.
  • Note the number beds and the bed configuration your family requires. Just Wright: Heated Private Pool, Hot Tub and Elevator has 6 bedrooms and 6 bathrooms.
  • Specific information about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is often available on booking pages. If they are not listed, reach out to the property management company before reserving the property. Remember that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which usually includes pull-out couches. You will need to establish which bed configuration is optimal for your family.
  • If your family is traveling with pets, you must reserve a pet-friendly vacation rental. Ask for specifics on breed, size, and type restrictions. Be aware that some property owners require additional pet deposits and fees.
  • Visiting for a specific event or attraction? If so, use a map search to find nearby rentals.
  • Proper accessibility can make or break a vacation for persons with a disability. .

More tips for your visit:

  • Get the property manager's phone number and arrival/departure procedures for your .
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, elevator or appliance. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief phone call prevents a lot of problems.
  • Lock your vacation home while you're out. Keep your property safe!
  • To ensure that damages are not linked to your family's stay, inspect for any problem areas upon your arrival. Get in touch with the host right away to relay your findings. If there is a dispute, having a record of issues and contact attempts will be useful.
  • Be respectful. Often, surrounding homes are filled by local residents. Respecting noise limits and parking regulations reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Locals can usually help. Who better to ask where to find the best bike paths, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
  • Re-check the property to make sure that you've packed everything at check-out. Check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
  • Did you have a terrific vacation? Many rental home management companies make it easy for customers to provide reviews. If your property and/or property manager was great, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was inoperable and they failed to fix it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.
