A calming OBX vacation starts with a deep breath in, and then... Exhale. This soundside bungalow in the sought-after Village at Nags Head has been completely remodeled from top to bottom, making Exhale look and feel like a brand new construction. Located right along the Nags Head Links golf course, Exhale offers expansive vistas of the fairway and vistas of the Roanoke Sound from the top floor and front porch. The ground level is equipped with a hot tub for a relaxing soak after a day at the beach.

Inside, a charmingly furnished living area features vaulted ceilings, generous natural light and plenty of comfortable seating for spending time with family and friends. It leads out to a sun deck where you can soak up some Vitamin D while watching the golfers. When it's time to eat, prepare meals in the refreshed kitchen with stainless steel appliances and sightlines into the great room. The roomy primary suite is conveniently located on the main level and includes a king bed and private, entirely updated bath. Upstairs, three more bedrooms and a second full bath will comfortably accommodate your guests.

Located at Milepost 14.5, Exhale is only half a mile to the handsome beaches of Nags Head. Take a ten-min. walk or three-min. bicycle ride to the Epstein public access, where there's also plenty of complimentary parking plus a convenient bath home. Less than a mile south you'll find the Outer Banks Mall which includes grocery stores, home décor and boutique shopping, plus a variety of dining and take-out options. Bring your kayaks or standup paddleboards and launch them at the close by sound access for a fun day on the water.

Can’t stay an entire week? Exhale is available for short stays and offers flexible arrival/departure options for those who like to plan ahead. In-season partial week stays (three-nighttime minimum) can be reserved months in advance, and guests can choose any day of the week for check-in and check-out.

No family pets allowed. No smoking/vaping.

Rental property booking tips and tricks:

Get the most from your vacation rental budget:

  • Summer months are the most expensive season along the coast of NC. Booking your Nags Head vacation home in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons is an excellent way to save money on your vacation rental. Rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of suitable homes.
  • Book your rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules generally become available 12 months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many groups book their Summer rentals during holiday get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager or host whether your vacationing group qualifies for a special promotion or discount.
  • Property managers usually offer their guests an option to add vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which usually will cost 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for additional information.
  • Find a copy of your local Nags Head visitors guide magazine upon checking in. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great local articles, visitors guides have deals for local accommodations, tours and attractions.

Filter your search:

  • Begin by choosing potential vacation weeks and a maximum budget.
  • Note the number beds and the bed configuration your family requires. Exhale: Renovated, Hot Tub, Golf Course Views has 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.
  • Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is normally accessible on booking pages. Otherwise, call the property management company before you book the vacation property. Remember that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds and bunks. You'll need to determine what is suitable for your trip.
  • Is your group looking for particular amenities? Most rental search websites include search filters for amenities. Use these to your advantage to find the perfect rental home.
  • Appropriate accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for the less-mobile. Make certain to inquire about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
  • Some rentals allow pets, and some do not. Acceptable types of dog or cat, weight and breeds may be restricted, and additional fees may apply. Ask the host about allowable pet guidelines before booking.

Have a wonderful stay:

  • Take a copy of the owner's contact number and entry/exit procedures for your rental.
  • Upon arrival, note any damages to the property and immediately contact the owner. Record all correspondence just in case a dispute arises.
  • Property managers are available to help! Feel free to ask any questions during your stay.
  • Don't forget to respect your neighbors. Often, nearby homes are filled by local residents. Respecting late-night noise limits and parking policies reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can typically help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to grab the best tacos, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for bird watching?
  • Ensure you protect the rental owner (and your stuff!) by keeping the rental locked up while you are out, just like you would at home.
  • Double-check the vacation property to make sure that you've packed all personal items at check-out. Check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
  • Did your family have a excellent stay? Most vacation rental websites make it easy for clients to provide comments. If your property and/or host was fantastic, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was imperfect and they failed to fix it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
