The Old Nags Head style covered-porch faces south and has vistas of the beach access. The bedroom has plenty of closet space and a queen size bed. The freshly modernized bathroom has a full size tub shower and a 31" vanity. The living area has an open floor plan with a full size kitchen, dining area and living room. The living room has a couch, coffee table and flat screen TV. The covered front porch is located just off the living room. It is a great place to take in the salt air and relax. The apartment is a fast 1 min. walk to the beach. The Albatross Street Beach access is located only 300' (less than a football field!) away. Strategies to get the very best rental home experience:

Sticking to your budget:

  • To find the best value, change your group's vacation week to the Spring or Fall shoulder seasons. May, September, and even October offer excellent temperatures, less crowded beaches, and reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to book an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the Summer months.
  • Book your rental as early as possible. Rental schedules often become available twelve months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many groups reserve their Summer rentals during holiday gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • Some hosts offer promotional rates for veterans. Remember to ask your property manager if discounts are available for your group.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners often offer their guests an option to buy trip insurance. Trip insurance, which generally will cost between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel stay or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for more information.
  • Often, rental management companies and vacation rental houses supply Nags Head area visitor guide magazines which will include special deals, either offered directly by local businesses, or through a partnership between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Nags Head visitors guide and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.

How to choose the perfect vacation home in the Nags Head area:

  • Choose a group leader, choose your vacation week, and choose a maximum budget.
  • Determine how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration your group needs. Beach Haven, less than 1 block to beach! Full kitchen, Private & Spacious. has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rentals search.
  • Specific details about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is normally available on booking websites. If you don't see them listed, reach out to the host before booking your home. Remember that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which often includes pull out couches in living rooms. You will need to determine what configuration is suitable for your family.
  • If there's an individual Nags Head attraction you crave, search for properties that are either nearby, or those that cater to your needs.
  • Proper accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with a disability. Make certain to inquire about wheel chair accessibility, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
  • If your family is bringing pets, you must book a pet-friendly property. Make sure to ask for information on breed, weight, and type requirements. Usually, property managers charge pet deposits and fees.

Additional considerations:

  • Take a copy of the property manager's phone number and check in/check out procedures for your . Put the manager's information in your smartphone.
  • Make a record of any issues with the property during check in, and immediately send them to the host. We especially recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain time stamps that can be useful if a dispute arises.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a fireplace, A/V setup or thermostat. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief call can prevent many problems.
  • Respecting quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay more pleasurable. You'll increase your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are a fantastic source for finding the best local scenic spots.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Local residents can frequently help. Who better to ask where to book the best tours, have a great night out, or the best spots for crabbing?
  • Lock your rental property while you are gone! Don't let crooks spoil your trip.
  • Re-check the property to make sure that you've packed all belongings at departure. Check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Go through the property one final time and scan for damages to contents or the property itself. We suggest inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the manager isn't available, take photos and video of the property to record its condition at check-out.
  • Did your group have a excellent stay? Most rental managers make it easy for travelers to provide reviews. If your rental and/or property manager was fantastic, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was out of order and they failed to correct it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.
