Nags Head rental home booking tips and tricks:

When to visit Nags Head & When to reserve a rental home:

  • Summer is the most expensive season in Nags Head. To find the best value, try shifting your family's Nags Head vacation week to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and even October offer great temperatures, less crowded beaches, and greatly reduced traffic. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Nags Head vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with friends and family at the beach.
  • Book your vacation rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules often become available a year in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many groups reserve their Summer rental homes during holiday get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • Hosts and Property managers sometimes offer promotional rates for active duty military and veterans. Ask your property manager if rate reductions are available for your family before you book.
  • Property managers usually offer guests an option to purchase vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which usually will cost you 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed days as a result of medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for program terms and fees.
  • Look for your local Nags Head visitors guide when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental home doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great local information, visitors guides have discounts for local attractions, tours, restaurants, and shops.

Choosing the perfect rental home in the Nags Head area:

  • Select a designated group leader, select your vacation week, and select a spending budget.
  • Note the number bedrooms and the bed configuration your family needs. Seascape Escape: Oceanside, 4 lots from the beach, Shared Pool, Pet-friendly has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rental home search.
  • Specific information about bedrooms and bed counts & types is usually available on booking pages. If you don't see them listed, email or call the property manager before you book your home. Note that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which often includes pull-out couches. You'll need to establish what is best for your trip.
  • Are you visiting for a single attraction? Use a map search to browse nearby properties.
  • Proper accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with disabilities. .
  • If your family is vacationing with pets, you must reserve a pet-friendly rental. Ask for specifics on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Note that some property managers charge pet deposits and fees.

Have a wonderful stay:

  • Get the property manager's contact number and check in/check out procedures for your rental property.
  • Upon arrival, record any damages to the rental property and immediately contact the property manager. Record all coorespondence.
  • Hosts are there to help! Don't be shy to ask any questions during your stay.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like unpleasant vacationers bothering your life at home. Apply the golden rule for best judgement. If they like you, locals might even recommend great beaches and scenic spots you would have never otherwise known!
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Locals can often help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to spend a rainy day, have a great night out, or the best spots for BBQ?
  • Keep your rental home locked while you're out! Don't let crooks ruin your holiday.
  • Upon check-out, complete a walk-through to make sure you didn't forget any personal items. Make sure to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
  • Did you have a terrific vacation? Most rental websites make it easy for travelers to provide comments. If your rental and/or property management company was wonderful, they would love to hear it. If anything was amiss and they failed to address it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.
