Tips and Tricks to get the perfect Nags Head rental home experience:

Finding the best rental value:

  • In the Nags Head area, The sooner you can reserve a vacation rental, the easier your search will be. The most desirable rental properties are reserved early. Booking your rental property up to 12 months before your travel dates is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to plan and reserve your rental.
  • Reserve your Nags Head vacation home in the Spring or Fall to enjoy gorgeous weather while saving money and avoiding crowds.
  • Property managers sometimes offer special rates for veterans and active duty military. Check with your host or property manager to see if special offers are available for your family before you book.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners frequently offer customers an option to obtain trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which will generally cost between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed trip time as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for additional information.
  • Find a copy of your local visitors guide when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental home doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great local stories, visitors guide magazines contain coupons for nearby accommodations, tours and attractions.

Finding the best rental home in the Nags Head area:

  • Decide how many beds and the bed configuration your family requires. Per-SPECHT-tive: Oceanside, Private Pool, Hot Tub has 7 bedrooms and 7 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Nags Head vacation rental search.
  • Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed counts is often accessible on booking pages. If they are not listed, call the property management company before booking the vacation property. Note that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds in living rooms. You'll need to determine what configuration is suitable for your vacation family.
  • If your group is bringing pets, filter your search for a property that allows animals. Ask for specifics on breed, weight, and type requirements. Note that some hosts charge additional pet fees.
  • If there's a certain Nags Head destination you crave, browse homes that are either nearby, or those that cater especially to your requirements.

  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Local residents can usually help. Who better to ask where to grab the best tacos, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fishing?
  • At departure, take a final walk-through to confirm you have not leave anything behind. Remember to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Go through the property a final time and keep an eye out for damage. We recommend walking through with the host whenever you can. If the property manager is not available, ensure that you take photos and video of the property to record its condition at check-out.
  • After your trip, leave a review! Hosts rely on great ratings to inspire more reservations. They'll be grateful for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other vacationers will will be grateful for your experience and help them have the best future vacation. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to remedy it.
