How to find the best Nags Head rental home experience:

Money saving strategies:

  • June, July, and August are high season in the Nags Head area. Reserve your Nags Head rental property in Fall or Spring to get the benefit of gorgeous weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities.
  • Reserve your vacation rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules generally become available twelve months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many families reserve their Summer rentals during Thanksgiving and Christmas gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • Some hosts and property managers offer discounts for active duty military and veterans. Remember to ask your host or property manager if special offers are available for your family before you book.
  • Property management companies typically offer customers an option to purchase trip insurance. Trip insurance, which generally costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for additional information.
  • Find a copy of your local visitors guide when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great local stories, visitor guides have offers and deals for local accommodations and attractions.

How to choose the best vacation rental in Nags Head:

  • Begin by selecting trip dates and a maximum budget.
  • Decide how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration you need. Semi-oceanfront old nags head style cottage with hot tub! has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Precise information about bedrooms and bed types is regularly accessible on booking pages. If not, email the property owner before booking your home. Note that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which often includes pull-out couches and bunk beds. You will need to work out what is best for your trip.
  • Looking for specific amenities? Most rental websites include search filters for amenities. Filtering by amenity will allow you to quickly find your ideal rental.
  • Suitable accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for guests with disabilities. Confirm all required amenities are included before booking
  • If your group is vacationing with pets, you'll need to book a rental that allows animals. Ask for details on breed, size, and type restrictions. Be aware that some property managers require additional pet deposits and fees.

Additional considerations:

  • Add the owner's contact information to your smartphone. Take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
  • To make certain that damages aren't attributed to your stay, note any problem areas during arrival. text the property manager right away to document your findings. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having the recorded concerns and contact attempts will be valuable.
  • Hosts are great sources of help! Feel free to ask questions during your stay.
  • Be respectful of your neighbors. Often times, adjacent homes are occupied by local residents. Respecting late-night noise limits and parking regulations reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Neighbors can frequently help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to go for the best drinks, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
  • Lock your rental home while you are out and about. Protect the owner's property and your things!
  • When it's time to leave, take a final walk-through to confirm you didn't forget any personal items. Remember to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Please make sure to walk through the rental one final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We recommend walking through with the host whenever possible. If the property manager is not available, remember to take photos and video of the property to record its condition at check-out.
  • Leave a review! Property managers rely on excellent feedback to propel new reservations. They'll be thankful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went awry, other vacationers will appreciate that you share your experience find their best vacation rental. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to remedy it.
