Our top Nags Head rental booking tips and tricks:

Finding your best deal:

  • Summer months are the most expensive season in the Nags Head area. Reserving a rental home in the Spring or Fall is a good way to save on your vacation. Rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of suitable homes.
  • The sooner your group can reserve a home, the better your selection will be. The best rental homes are reserved early. Booking your vacation home six to twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to search for and book your vacation rental.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective vacation rental company or host whether your group qualifies for a price reduction.
  • Property managers often offer customers an option to obtain trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed time as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for more information.
  • Find a copy of your local visitors guide upon arrival. If your rental doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great local articles, visitors guides contain coupons for local accommodations and attractions.

Planning and picking your prefect Nags Head rental home:

  • Start by having your family commit to vacation dates and a budget.
  • Determine how many beds and the configuration your family requires. Classic beach cottage just steps from the beach access in Nags Head! has 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rental home search.
  • Specific information about bedrooms and bed counts & types is usually accessible on booking pages. If not, call the property owner before reserving the property. Remember that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds.
  • Visiting for a specific event? Use a map search to browse nearby rentals.
  • Suitable accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for the less-mobile. Make certain to inquire about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
  • Some rental properties allow pets, and others do not. Acceptable types of dog or cat, size and breeds may be restricted, and additional charges may apply. Ask the owner about your furry family members before booking.

Additional considerations:

  • Get the owner's phone number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental home.
  • At Check-in, note any damages to the rental property and immediately contact the property manager. Record all coorespondence.
  • Property managers are great sources of help! Feel free to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Be respectful. Frequently, nearby homes are filled by local residents. Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can frequently help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to see a beautiful sunrise or sunset, have a great night out, or the best spots for crabbing?
  • Keep the property locked while you are away! Don't let thieves ruin your trip.
  • Double-check the rental property to make sure that you've packed all of your belongings on check-out day. Remember to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
  • Did your group have a wonderful vacation? Most vacation rental websites make it easy for vacationers to provide feedback. If your property and/or host was fantastic, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was out of order and they failed to fix it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
