Rental booking tips:

Money saving strategies:

  • Booking your Nags Head vacation home in the Fall or Spring is our favorite way to save money on your vacation rental. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of desirable homes. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to reserve an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the high season. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Nags Head vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with friends and family at the beach.
  • In the Nags Head area, The earlier your group can book a vacation home, the easier your search will be. The best properties are booked very early. Reserving your rental up to twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to plan and reserve your rental property.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager whether your family qualifies for a price reduction or discount.
  • Booking websites often offer customers an option to buy trip insurance. Trip insurance, which usually costs 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for specifics.
  • Often, management companies supply Nags Head area visitors guide magazines which include money-saving offers, either offered directly by local companies, or by way of a relationship between the management company and the business itself. You can also find Nags Head area magazine and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.

Finding the perfect vacation home in the Nags Head area:

  • To start, have your group choose vacation dates and a max budget.
  • Note the number beds and the bed configuration your family needs. Oceanview w\/Elevator, Pool, Theater Rm, Pool table, brand new master shower has 9 bedrooms and 6 bathrooms.
  • Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is almost always accessible on booking websites. If not, contact the host before you reserve your rental. Note that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull out couches in living rooms. You'll need to establish what configuration is optimal for your vacation.
  • If there's a specific Nags Head destination you are crazy about, search for rentals that are either near by, or those that cater to your needs.
  • Appropriate accessibility can make or break a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Make certain to ask about wheel chair entry, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
  • If your family is bringing pets, you will need a pet-friendly property. Ask for details on breed, size, and type restrictions. Usually, hosts charge pet deposits and fees.

Tips for a great stay:

  • Take a copy of the host's contact number and check in/check out procedures for your .
  • During arrival, record any damages to the rental property and immediately contact the property manager. Keep records of all correspondence in case a dispute arises.
  • Hosts are great sources of help! Don't be shy to ask questions during your stay.
  • Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You'll enhance your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are often a great source for finding the best local attractions.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Locals can often help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to rent beach equipment, have a great night out, or the best spots for BBQ?
  • Lock your rental while you're out. Protect the owner's property and your things!
  • Double-check the rental property to make sure that you've packed all belongings at departure. Re-check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Inspect the property one final time and scan for damages to contents or the property itself. We suggest inspecting the property with the host whenever possible. If the manager isn't available, take pictures of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
  • Did you have a excellent stay? Most rental managers make it easy for clients to provide feedback. If your rental property and/or property manager was wonderful, they would love to hear about it. If anything was imperfect and they failed to correct it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
