Rental property booking tips:

Cost saving strategies:

  • Book your vacation rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules usually become available twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many groups reserve their Summer rental homes during Christmas and Thanksgiving get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • Summer time is high season in the Nags Head area. To get the best rental for your budget, we recommend booking in the Spring or Fall. You'll enjoy lower rental rates, better selection, gorgeous weather and the absence of large crowds at the beach and popular attractions. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Nags Head vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with friends and family at the beach.
  • Some property managers offer special rates for veterans and active duty military. Ask your property manager if rate reductions are available for your group before you book.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners frequently offer customers an option to purchase trip insurance. Trip insurance, which normally will cost between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel stay or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for additional information.
  • Many rental management companies and vacation rental houses supply Nags Head area visitors guides that include money-saving deals, either offered directly by local companies, or by way of a partnership between the management company and the business itself. You can also find Nags Head visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.

How to choose the perfect rental in Nags Head:

  • Begin by choosing potential vacation weeks and a max budget.
  • Decide how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your family requires. Heron Cove 201S-Oceanfront condo, community pool, building elevator, near beach! has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our search.
  • Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed counts is normally accessible on booking websites. Otherwise, reach out to the host before you book the rental. Remember that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds in living rooms.
  • Are you traveling with furry, four-legged family members? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Make sure to ask before booking, and study your rental agreement! Additional fees or costs may be applied to your invoice.
  • If there's a certain Nags Head beach you crave, browse homes that are either close by, or those that cater especially to your needs.
  • Proper accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with disabilities. Confirm all required amenities are available before booking.

Know before you go:

  • Get the host's contact number and check in/check out procedures for your .
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a fireplace, intercom or washer/dryer. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief text message prevents quite a few difficulties.
  • Lock your rental home while you're away. Protect the owner's property and your things!
  • To ensure that damages are not linked to your visit, inspect the rental for any problem areas when you arrive. Speak to the rental manager immediately to record any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having a record of concerns and contact attempts will be very helpful.
  • Don't forget to respect your neighbors. Often times, adjacent homes are filled by permanent residents. Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Locals can frequently help. Who better to ask where to grab the best tacos, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for crabbing?
  • Upon check-out, take a walk-through to make sure you didn't forget any personal items. Check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Record a video to document the condition of the property.
  • Remember to leave feedback! Property managers rely on good feedback to propel new bookings. They'll be much obliged for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went awry, other vacationers will be thankful you shared your experience find their best rental home. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to solve it.
