Tips to get the perfect rental home experience:

When to book a Nags Head rental home & When to go:

  • Reserve your rental as early as possible. Rental schedules often open twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many groups reserve their Summer vacations during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months in coastal NC. Booking your Nags Head vacation rental in the Spring or Fall is our best tip for saving money on your vacation. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of acceptable homes. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to reserve a beach front rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the Summer.
  • Hosts sometimes offer discounts for veterans and active duty military. Ask your host or property manager if special offers are available for your group.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners frequently offer their guests an option to purchase vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which commonly costs 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed days as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel stay or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for additional information.
  • Find a copy of your local Nags Head visitors guide magazine when you check-in. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great articles, visitors guides contain discounts for nearby shops and restaurants.

Planning and picking your Nags Head vacation home:

  • Begin by choosing potential vacation weeks and a budget.
  • Determine how many beds and the bed configuration you need. K1471 Mullen Sandpiper. Semi-Oceanfront, 4 BD, Pool, 150 Yards to the Beach has 4 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms.
  • Precise information about bedrooms and bed types is almost always accessible on booking pages. If you don't see them listed, email the property owner before you reserve the vacation property. Remember that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which often includes pull-out couches. You will need to work out what is right for your trip.
  • Remember to include your furry companions! Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Remember to ask the property manager before booking, and study your agreement thoroughly! Additional pet fees or applied to your contract.
  • Are you looking for special amenities? Most websites include amenity lists and search filters. Filtering by amenity will allow you to quickly find the perfect rental.
  • Proper accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with disabilities. .

Some things to know before you go:

  • Store the owner's contact information in your smartphone.
  • Hosts are available to help! Feel free to ask questions during your stay.
  • Protect the property owner (and your things!) by locking the rental while you are gone, just like you would at home.
  • Record any damages to the property during check in, and immediately e-mail them to the host. We specifically recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that can be helpful if a dispute arises.
  • Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking restrictions can make a stay more pleasurable. You will increase your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are usually an excellent source for finding the best local beaches.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Residents can typically help. Who better to ask where to spend a rainy day, have a great night out, or the best spots for crabbing?
  • Upon check-out, complete a final walk-through to make sure you haven't forget anything. Remember to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Please make sure to walk through the property a final time and scan for any damage. We advise walking through with the property manager whenever possible. If the manager isn't available, take photos and video of the rental to record its condition.
  • Did your group have a excellent stay? Most vacation rental websites make it easy for vacationers to provide comments. If your property and/or host was fantastic, they would love to hear about it. If anything was imperfect and they failed to fix it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.
