Tips and Tricks to get the very best Nags Head rental experience:

Sticking to a rental budget:

  • Book your vacation home as early as possible. Rental schedules generally become available 12 months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many families reserve their Summer vacations during Christmas and Thanksgiving get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • Summer months are the most expensive season in coastal NC. Reserving a rental home in Fall or Spring is our favorite way to save money on your vacation rental. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of suitable properties. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Nags Head vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with loved ones at your favorite beach.
  • Some owners offer promotional rates for active duty military and veterans. Ask your host or property manager if rate reductions are available for your group before you book.
  • Booking websites often offer their guests an option to buy trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost you anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any days missed as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel stay or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for details.
  • Look for your local Nags Head area magazine when you check-in. If your rental doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great local information, visitor guide magazines contain coupons for nearby shops and restaurants.

Make a plan and pick the perfectrental:

  • Begin by choosing the best vacation week and a maximum budget.
  • Note the number bedrooms and the bed configuration your family requires. Sweet Southern Pearl: Contemporary PierView Oceanfront Condo with Stunning Views has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Precise information about bedrooms and bed types is regularly accessible online. If you don't see them listed, contact the host before you book the home. Note that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds in living rooms. You will need to work out what configuration is right for your vacation family.
  • If your family is bringing pets, you'll need to book a rental that allows animals. Ask for details on breed, size, and type requirements. Be aware that some property managers charge pet deposits and fees.
  • Visiting for a single event? Try a map search to locate nearby properties.
  • Proper accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for persons with a disability. .

Some things to know before you go:

  • Review check in & check out procedures before traveling. Save the instructions to your phone, and take a printed copy.
  • Property managers are there to help! Don't be shy to ask any questions during your stay.
  • Keep the property locked while you are gone! Don't let crooks ruin your trip.
  • Upon arrival, note any issues with the property and immediately contact the host. Keep records of all coorespondence.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like unpleasant visitors disrupting your peaceful neighborhood. Practice the golden rule for best judgement. If they like you, locals might even recommend great local food and scenic spots you would have not otherwise known!
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Locals can frequently help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to charter a fishing boat, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for bird watching?
  • On check-out day, complete a walk-through to make sure you did not forget anything. Make sure to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Please make sure to walk through the rental a final time and scan for damages to contents or the property itself. We recommend inspecting the property with the host whenever possible. If the property manager isn't available, take pictures of the property to record its condition at check-out.
  • After your trip, leave a review! Property managers rely on good ratings to drive future bookings. They'll be thankful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other vacationing families will will be grateful for your experience and help them have the best future vacation. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to remedy it.
