Our 3 bedroom, 2 bathroom home is in the heart of the entertainment node of Nags Head on the beautiful OBX. The main living area is great room style with tons of natural light. To the side of the home is a roomy (20'x12') deck with ample seating. The enclosed deck leads to a fenced in backyard which is where the grille is located. The main bedroom has ensuite bathroom and a queen bed. The second bedroom has a queen bed while the third has 2 twins beds. In addition to the 2 inside full bathrooms we also have a great outside shower.

Even though we are not beachside you can still walk or bicycle to the beach and numerous eateries/bars like Tortugas and Lucky 12 Tavern. Nags Head main lifeguarded beach and parking lot with bath home (Bonnett St) is only about 1/2 mile away. We are also walking distance to Dowdy Park and the YMCA. The entrance to Nags Head Woods walking trails is about 2 blocks away. Savor a serene walk on trails that lead to the handsome Pamlico Sound.

(Please note: We have an impressive & very sweet long term tenant who lives downstairs. She is in a separate apartment with separate entrance & separate ventilation system. The home is basically set up like a duplex. Rest assured the backyard belongs to you only during your stay, it is not a shared space. Nichole works a lot, but if you see her say hello...she is a great resource of information for the area!)

About the Area

Located in Nags Head, this vacation home is near the beach. Wright Brothers National Memorial and Roanoke Marshes Lighthouse are local landmarks, and some of the area's attractions include Destination Fun and Stop-N-Shop Beach Shop. Professor Hacker's Lost Treasure Golf and Full Throttle Speedway are also worth visiting. Take an opportunity to explore the area for water adventures such as motor boating.

When to visit & When to book:

  • The earlier you can book a vacation rental, the easier your search will be. The best rental properties are booked very early. Reserving your rental property six - twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to search for and book your rental property.
  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months along the coast of NC. To get the best rental home within your budget, we suggest reserving in the Fall or Spring. You'll enjoy lower rental rates, greater selection, gorgeous weather and the absence of giant crowds at the beach and popular attractions.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective vacation rental company or host if your group qualifies for a price reduction or discount.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners frequently offer renters an option to obtain vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which costs between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed days as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for more information.
  • Look for your local Nags Head visitors guide magazine upon checking in. If your rental doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great information, travel guides have deals for nearby accommodations, restaurants and tours.

  • First and foremost, have your group select date ranges and a max budget.

  • Specific information about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is almost always available online. If they are not listed, call the property management company before you book the property. Remember that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which often includes pull-out couches and bunk beds. You will need to determine what configuration is right for your family.
  • Some rental properties allow pets, and others don't. Acceptable types of pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and added fees may apply. Ask your host about allowable pet guidelines before booking.
  • Does your family require unique amenities? Most websites include search filters for amenities. Filtering by amenity will allow you to quickly find the perfect rental home.
  • Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for those with limited mobility. Remember to confirm all necessary amenities are available and included before reserving a rental

Some things to know before you go:

  • Store the host's information in your smartphone.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a fireplace, intercom or thermostat. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief call prevents a lot of difficulties.
  • Ensure you protect the property owner (and your things!) by keeping the rental locked up while you are out, just like you would at home.
  • To ensure that no damages are attributed to your family's visit, make a record of any problem areas upon your arrival. Contact the property manager right away to report any issues. If there is a dispute, having the recorded issues and contact attempts will be helpful.
  • Respect the neighborhood. Frequently, adjacent homes are filled by permanent residents. Respecting late-night noise limits and parking regulations is the right thing to do.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Neighbors can frequently point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to enjoy a steak with a view, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fine dining?
  • Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, take a walk through the property to make sure you've collected all personal items. Re-check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Record a video to document the condition of the property.
  • Did your group have a terrific stay? Many rental websites make it easy for clients to provide comments. If your property and/or property manager was terrific, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was out of order and they failed to fix it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.
