Our top Nags Head vacation rental home tips:
How to get the best rental value:
- Summer months are high season in Nags Head. To find the best value, try changing your family's Nags Head vacation week to the Spring or Fall seasons. May, September, and even October offer excellent weather, less crowded beaches, and reduced traffic.
- The earlier you can reserve a vacation rental, the easier your search will be. The most desirable properties are booked early. Booking your rental property six - twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to plan and reserve your rental home.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner or host if your vacationing group qualifies for a special promotion or discount.
- Property management companies often offer guests an option to buy trip insurance. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed trip time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel stay or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for details.
- Many rental management companies and vacation rental houses supply Nags Head area visitors guide magazines that include money-saving offers, either offered independently by local businesses, or through a relationship between the management company and the business itself. You can also find Nags Head visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.
Planning and picking the right Nags Head vacation home:
- Choose your vacation week and max budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and the bed configuration you need. Updated beach house steps away from the beach and pool has 5 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our search.
- Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is regularly available on booking pages. If they are not listed, email or call the property management company before you reserve the property. Remember that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds and bunks.
- Are you looking for specific amenities? Most rental websites include amenity lists and search filters. Use these filters to your advantage to find the perfect rental home.
- Suitable accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for those with limited mobility. .
- If your group is vacationing with pets, you must reserve a pet-friendly property. Ask for specifics on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Note that some property managers charge additional pet fees.
Some things to know before you go:
- Take a copy of the host's contact number and entry/exit procedures for your rental home.
- At Check-in, record any damages to the property and immediately contact the host. Keep records of all correspondence in case a dispute arises.
- Property managers are great sources of help! Don't be shy to ask questions during your stay.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disrespectful visitors disrupting your peaceful home life. Apply the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great local food and scenic spots you would've not otherwise known!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Residents can typically help. Who better to ask where to book the best tours, have a great night out, or the best spots for fishing?
- Keep the property locked while you're out! Don't let burglars ruin your trip.
- Double-check every room of the rental property to confirm that you've packed all of your family's items at check-out. Re-check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Please make sure to walk through the rental a final time and look for any damage. We suggest inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can. If the host isn't available, remember to take photographs of the rental to record its condition.
- Did you have a fantastic vacation? Most rental websites make it easy for travelers to provide reviews. If your rental and/or host was terrific, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was imperfect and they failed to correct it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
