How to find the best vacation rental experience:

Find your perfect rental home:

  • Summer months are the most expensive season in Nags Head. To find the best value, consider changing your trip dates to the Spring or Fall seasons. May, September, and October offer great temperatures, less crowded beaches, and greatly reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve a beach front rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the Summer months.
  • The earlier your group can reserve a vacation rental, the better your selection will be. The most desirable vacation rentals are reserved early. Booking your rental up to twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to plan and reserve your rental property.
  • Hosts and Property managers sometimes offer discounts for active duty military and veterans. It's always a good idea to check with your host or property manager to see if special discounts are available for your group.
  • Booking websites often offer customers an option to buy vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel stay or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for details.
  • Often, rental management companies and vacation rental houses supply Nags Head area visitors guide magazines that include coupons, either offered directly by local companies, or by way of a partnership between the management company and the business itself. You can also find Nags Head area magazine and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
