Tricks and tips to get the optimal Nags Head vacation property experience:

Cost saving strategies:

  • The sooner you can book a vacation home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable vacation homes are booked very early. Reserving your vacation property six - twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental property.
  • Summer months are the most expensive season in the Nags Head area. To book the most suitable vacation home for your budget, we highly recommend booking in the Spring or Fall. You'll benefit from lower rental rates, better selection, warm weather and the absence of large crowds at popular attractions and restaurants. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Nags Head vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with friends and family at your favorite beach.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective vacation rental company or host whether your group qualifies for a price reduction.
  • Booking websites often offer renters an option to obtain trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which generally costs between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed trip time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for more information.
  • Many management companies and vacation rental houses supply Nags Head area visitor guides which include money-saving deals, either offered directly by local companies, or by way of a partnership between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Nags Head area magazine and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.

Planning and picking your prefect Nags Head rental home:

  • Select a designated group leader, select your trip dates, and select a max budget.
  • Note the number beds and the configuration your family needs. Tequila Mockingbird: Private Pool, Semi-Oceanfront has 7 bedrooms and 5 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Nags Head rental home search.
  • Specific information about bedrooms and bed counts is commonly available on booking pages. If they are not listed, contact the host before you book the vacation home. Remember that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds. You'll need to determine what bed configuration is right for your vacation group.
  • If your family is traveling with pets, filter your search for a property that allows animals. Get details on breed, size, and type restrictions. Note that some hosts require additional pet deposits and fees.
  • Visiting for a specific event? Use a map search to locate nearby rentals.
  • Suitable accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for guests with disabilities. Make certain to inquire about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.

During your stay:

  • Take a copy of the property manager's phone number and check in/check out procedures for your rental property.
  • Hosts are available to help! Feel free to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Protect the property owner (and your stuff!) by locking the property while you are gone, just like you would at home.
  • To ensure that damages are not linked to your family's visit, inspect the property for any problem areas during arrival. text the property manager right away to document any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having the recorded issues and contact attempts will be valuable.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like unpleasant visitors bothering your peaceful home. Apply the golden rule for best judgement. Happy residents may even recommend great beaches and scenic spots you would've never otherwise known about!
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Residents can usually point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to rent beach equipment, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fine dining?
  • Don't leave anything behind! Before departing, walk through the rental property to reconfirm you've collected all personal belongings. Remember to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Go through the rental one final time and look for any damage. We suggest walking through with the property manager whenever you can. If the manager isn't available, ensure that you take pictures of the property to record its condition.
  • Remember to leave a review! Property managers rely on great ratings to compel future reservations. They'll be grateful for your review. Alternatively, if something went awry, other vacationers will be thankful you shared your experience find their best rental home. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to solve it.
