Strategies for getting the perfect Nags Head vacation home experience:

Finding your best deal:

  • Book your rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules often become available a year in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many groups reserve their Summer vacations during holiday get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months along the coast of NC. To find the best rental within budget, we strongly suggest reserving in Fall or Spring. You'll benefit from lower rates, greater selection, gorgeous weather and the absence of large crowds at local restaurants, tours, and activities.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective host if your group qualifies for a special rate.
  • Property managers often offer customers an option to purchase trip insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed vacation time as a result of medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for details.
  • Often, rental management companies and vacation rental houses supply Nags Head area travel guides which often include money-saving deals, either offered directly by local companies, or by way of a relationship with the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.

Planning and picking a perfect Nags Head rental:

  • Select a group lead, select your dates, and select a maximum budget.
  • Note the number beds and the bed configuration your group needs. Sunnyside Beach House: Private pool, hot tub, rec room, media room & elevator! has 5 bedrooms and 6 bathrooms.
  • Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is often accessible online. Otherwise, email or call the host before you book the vacation home. Note that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds and bunks. You will need to work out what is suitable for your vacation.
  • Some properties allow pets, and some do not. Acceptable types of family pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and added costs may apply. Ask the property management company about your furry family members before booking.
  • If there's a particular Nags Head beach you long to visit, keep an eye out for rentals that are either near by, or those that cater to your desires.
  • Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. .

Advice for your stay:

  • Add the host's contact info to your smartphone. Print and take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
  • Property managers are there to help! Feel free to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Lock your vacation home while you're out and about. Protect your property!
  • Document any issues with the rental at check in, and immediately send them to the property manager. We especially recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain time stamps that can be valuable if a dispute arises.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disagreeable vacationers disrupting your home life. Practice the golden rule for best judgement. If they like you, locals might even recommend great beaches and attractions you would've not otherwise known about!
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Neighbors can typically help. Who better to ask where to launch your kayaks, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
  • Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, take a walk through the rental property to confirm you've collected all personal belongings. Remember to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Go through the property one final time and scan for damages to contents or the property itself. We recommend walking through with the host whenever possible. If the host isn't available, remember to take photographs of the property to record its condition.
  • After your trip, leave feedback! Property managers rely on excellent feedback to drive future reservations. They'll be much obliged for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other vacationing families will appreciate that you share your review find their best rental home. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to fix it.
