How to find the best Nags Head vacation property experience:

Finding the best value:

  • Book your vacation rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules usually open 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many families book their Summer vacation rentals during Thanksgiving and Christmas get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • Summertime is high season in the Nags Head area. Reserving a rental home in the Spring or Fall is our best tip for saving money on your vacation. Rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of desirable properties. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to book an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the high season.
  • Some hosts and property managers offer special rates for veterans and active duty military. It's always a good idea to check with your host or property manager to see if special discounts are available for your group.
  • Property management companies usually offer their guests an option to purchase vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost you between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed days as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for specifics.
  • Look for your local Nags Head area magazine upon arrival. If your rental home doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great local articles, visitor guide magazines contain money saving offers on nearby tours, shops, and attractions.

How to select the perfect vacation rental in Nags Head:

  • Select a group leader, choose your vacation week, and select a max budget.
  • Note the number beds and the configuration your family needs. Perfect Beach Retreat 150ft from Beach Access! has 3 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
  • Precise details about bedrooms and bed counts is regularly accessible on booking websites. If you don't see them listed, reach out to the host before reserving your rental. Remember that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which usually includes pull-out couches and bunk beds.
  • Some rental properties allow pets, and others don't. Acceptable types of dog or cat, size and breeds may be restricted, and additional costs may apply. Ask your host about allowable breeds and types before booking.
  • If there's a particular Nags Head destination you crave, keep an eye out for homes that are either nearby, or those that cater especially to your needs.
  • Suitable accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for the less-mobile. .

Some things to know before you go:

  • Get the owner's contact number and arrival/departure procedures for your .
  • Property managers are available to help! Don't be shy to ask any questions during your stay.
  • Lock your rental while you're out. Keep your property safe!
  • To make sure no damages are attributed to your family's stay, record any problem areas when you arrive. Get in touch with the property manager right away to record any issues. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having a record of concerns and contact attempts will be useful.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like loud vacationers bothering your peaceful neighborhood. Use the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great restaurants and scenic spots you would've not otherwise known!
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Residents can often help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to grab the best tacos, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for BBQ?
  • Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, walk through the rental property to make sure you've collected all personal belongings. Make sure to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Inspect the property a final time and look for any damage. We recommend inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can. If the property manager isn't available, ensure that you take photographs of the property to record its condition.
  • Did you have a great stay? Most rental management companies make it easy for guests to provide feedback. If your property and/or host was fantastic, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was imperfect and they failed to correct it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.
