How to book the best Nags Head vacation home experience:
Sticking to a budget:
- Reserve your rental as early as possible. Rental schedules often become available 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many groups book their Summer vacations during holiday gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months in Nags Head. Book your vacation in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons to get the benefit of warm weather while saving money and avoiding crowds.
- Some property management companies offer promotional rates for veterans. Ask your property manager if discounts are available for your group before you book.
- Property management companies usually offer their guests an option to obtain trip insurance. Trip insurance, which usually will cost you anywhere between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel stay or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for additional information.
- Look for your local visitors guide upon arrival. If your rental doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great local articles, visitors guide magazines have coupons for nearby attractions, tours, restaurants, and shops.
Selecting the perfect vacation home in Nags Head:
- Begin by choosing a vacation week and a spending budget.
- Note the number beds and the bed configuration your group requires. Professionally Designed Oasis, Budget & Pup Friendly, Walk-in Shower, Pools! has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Specific details about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is often accessible online. Otherwise, contact the host before reserving your home. Note that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds in living rooms.

More tips for your stay:
- Store the host's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a garage door opener, A/V setup or WIFI setup. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief text message prevents a lot of problems.
- Keep your rental home locked while you are gone! Don't let burglars spoil your vacation.
- At Check-in, note any issues with the property and immediately alert the host. Record all correspondence in case a dispute arises.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. You'll magnify your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are often a fantastic resource to find the best local beaches and hangouts.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Local residents can frequently help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to find the best seashells, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for BBQ?
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, take a walk through the rental property to reconfirm you've collected all personal belongings. Re-check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Go through the rental one final time and scan for any damage. We suggest walking through with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the manager is not available, ensure that you take pictures of the property to record its condition.
- Leave a review! Property owners rely on great feedback to drive new reservations. They'll be thankful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other vacationers will will be grateful for your review find their best rental home. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to fix it.
