Reconnect with nature and embrace your inner angler at New Beginnings, a unique waterfront home in Old Nags Head Cove that's really a fisherman's heaven. Ideal for boat owners and groups that intend to be out on the water, New Beginnings is located right on a completely bulkheaded canal. Tie up your watercraft right behind the home using the private dock equipped with electricity and water (3 hose connection options). Along with a fish cleaning station, grille and a 7 cubic ft. ice chest on the ground level, you'll have everything you need to catch and prepare your own seafood dinners!

When you arrive, use the community boat ramp (for a nominal fee) to put your vessel or jet skis in the water and dock them right behind the home. From there, effortlessly navigate to the Roanoke Sound for exceptional saltwater fishing, water sports, or a sunset cruise with vistas that span across multiple OBX islands. Oregon Inlet is only 13 miles from the home.

Recent updates include LVP floor on the main level, stainless steel appliances in the kitchen and a freshly rebuilt deck that overlooks the canal and includes an outdoor dining set for al fresco meals. Vaulted ceilings and ample natural light make the open-concept great room feel bright and airy. Upstairs, the generously sized loft is practically a second living room, ideal for a kid's hangout space or a comfortable den for reading. The primary bedroom includes a king bed and access to a private waterfront deck where you can lounge in the sun.

In addition to the canals and boat-friendly amenities, guests also have the option of purchasing daily or weekly passes to the Old Nags Head Cove soundfront pool. Other community perks include a basketball court, volleyball court and picnic area. Walk or bicycle down the multi-use path that runs from Old Nags Head Cove to the Outer Banks Mall where you can browse an array of shopping and dining options, including two grocery stores. Also close by are two public beach accesses at Enterprise Street and another at Loggerhead Street, both of which provide parking.

Bringing a boat or other watercraft? Let us know at the time of booking and we'll have a $20 gift certificate to Food Lion or TW's Bait & Tackle (your choice!) ready for you to pick up from our office when you arrive. Guests can also redeem this offer by renting a boat or booking a charter during their stay through Outer Banks Outdoor Ventures. Limited to one gift certificate per booking.

No family pets allowed. No smoking/vaping. Optional access to community pool and boat ramp for modest fee.

Nags Head rental home booking tips and tricks:

Sticking to a rental home budget:

  • Book your vacation rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules often open a year in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many families book their Summer rentals during Winter holiday get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • To book the best vacation home for your budget, we suggest booking in the Spring or Fall. You'll benefit from lower rental rates, greater selection, warm weather and the absence of giant crowds at your favorite Nags Head restaurants and activities. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to book a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during June, July, and August. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Nags Head vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with family and friends at your favorite beach.
  • Property managers sometimes offer rate reductions for active duty military and veterans. Ask your host or property manager if special discounts are available for your group.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners frequently offer guests an option to purchase vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which usually will cost you 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for additional information.
  • Look for your local Nags Head area magazine when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great local stories, travel guide magazines have deals for nearby accommodations and attractions.

Selecting the best vacation home in Nags Head:

  • To start, have your family choose vacation dates and a maximum budget.
  • Note the number bedrooms and the configuration your group needs. New Beginnings: Canalfront Fisherman's Paradise w\/ Boat Dock has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is normally available online. If you don't see them listed, email or call the host before reserving your rental. Remember that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes pull-out couches.
  • Some rental properties allow pets, but others don't. Acceptable types of pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and additional fees may apply. Ask your host about your furry family members before booking.
  • Are you visiting for a single event or attraction? If so, use a map search to find nearby properties.
  • Proper accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for guests with disabilities. Confirm all required amenities are available and included before reserving a rental.

Some things to know before you go:

  • Get the owner's contact number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental property.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a hot tub, intercom or washer/dryer. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief telephone call can prevent lots of problems.
  • Ensure you protect the property owner (and your things!) by keeping the rental locked up when you are away, just like you would at home.
  • Record any damages to the rental upon arrival, and immediately contact the property manager. We specifically recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that are useful if there is a dispute.
  • Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. You will magnify your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors can be a terrific source for finding the best local spots.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Locals can typically help. Who better to ask where to find the fresh catch of the day, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fishing?
  • Just before checking out, take a walk-through to confirm you didn't forget anything. Make sure to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Record a video to document the condition of the property.
  • Did your family have a excellent vacation? Many rental websites make it easy for clients to provide feedback. If your rental and/or property management company was wonderful, they would love to hear about it. If anything was defective and they failed to correct it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.
