Booking the best Nags Head rental experience:

How to get the best rental home value:

  • Summer months are the most expensive season in the Nags Head area. To find the most suitable rental for your budget, we recommend reserving in Fall or Spring. You'll benefit from lower rental rates, greater selection, gorgeous weather and the absence of large crowds at the beach and popular attractions. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to book an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the Summer months. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Nags Head vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with loved ones at your favorite beach.
  • Book your vacation home as soon as possible. Rental schedules often open twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many families book their Summer vacations during Winter holiday gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner if your family qualifies for a price reduction.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners typically offer their guests an option to obtain vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which costs 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for days missed as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for additional information.
  • Often, property management companies and vacation rental houses supply Nags Head area visitor guides that include special offers, either offered independently by local companies, or through a relationship with the management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.

Make a plan and choose the right Nags Head rental home:

  • Select your vacation dates and budget.
  • Determine how many beds and the configuration your family needs. Location! 3 bed\/2bath Five min walk to beach! Linens & towels included! has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Precise details about bedrooms and bed counts & types is almost always accessible online. If they are not listed, call the property management company before reserving your rental. Note that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds and bunks.
  • If there's an individual Nags Head attraction you crave, keep an eye out for properties that are either nearby, or those that cater to your desires.
  • Suitable accessibility can make or break a vacation for the less-mobile. .
  • Are you traveling with furry, four-legged family members? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Ask your host before booking, and study your agreement! Additional fees or costs might be applied to your invoice.

More tips for your visit:

  • Add the host's contact information to your smartphone. Understand and take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
  • During check-in, note any issues with the rental property and immediately alert the owner. Keep records of all correspondence in case a dispute arises.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, television set or washer/dryer. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief call prevents lots of problems.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like troublesome visitors bothering your peaceful home life. Apply the golden rule for best judgement. Happy residents may even recommend great local food and scenic spots you would have not otherwise known!
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Local residents can typically help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to order delicious takeout, have a great night out, or the best spots for BBQ?
  • Ensure you protect the owner (and your things!) by locking the rental when you are out, just like you would back home.
  • Re-check every room of the vacation property to confirm that you've packed all personal items at check-out. Remember to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Record a video to document the condition of the property.
  • Leave a review! Property owners rely on great ratings to inspire new bookings. They'll be much obliged for your review. Alternatively, if something went awry, other vacationing families will be thankful you shared your review and help them have the best future vacation. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to remedy it.
