Tricks and tips to get the optimal Nags Head vacation rental experience:

How to get the best rental value:

  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months in the Nags Head area. To find the most suitable vacation home within your budget, we strongly suggest reserving in the Spring or Fall. You'll enjoy lower rental rates, better selection, beautiful weather and the absence of large crowds at Nags Head restaurants, tours, and activities.
  • The earlier you can book, the better your selection will be. The best rental properties are booked early. Reserving your vacation property six - twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to plan and book your rental.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager if your vacationing group qualifies for a discount.
  • Property management companies typically offer customers an option to add trip insurance. Trip insurance, which will generally cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed days as a result of medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for program terms and fees.
  • Find a copy of your local visitors guide when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental home doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great local articles, visitors guide magazines contain deals for nearby accommodations, tours and attractions.

How to choose and book the perfect Nags Head vacation home:

  • Start by choosing potential vacation weeks and a budget.
  • 3-Min Walk to Beach has 5 bedrooms and 5 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our vacation rental search.
  • Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is often accessible online. If they are not listed, email or call the property owner before you book your rental. Note that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds. You'll need to establish what configuration is optimal for your vacation group.
  • If there's a particular Nags Head attraction you love, look for properties that are either nearby, or those that cater especially to your needs.
  • Suitable accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with disabilities. Make certain to ask about wheel chair entry, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
  • Some properties allow pets, but some do not. Allowable types of pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and added fees may apply. Ask the property manager about pets before booking.

Some things to know before you go:

  • Take a copy of the host's phone number and entry/exit procedures for your . Put the manager's information in your smartphone.
  • To ensure that damages aren't attributed to your visit, inspect for any problem areas upon your arrival. text the property manager immediately to report any issues. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having the recorded problems and contact attempts will be valuable.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a garage door opener, stereo or thermostat. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief call prevents lots of problems.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disrespectful visitors bothering your home life. Practice the golden rule for best judgement. Happy residents may even recommend great local food and attractions you would've never otherwise known about!
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Residents can often help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to charter a fishing boat, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fishing?
  • Lock your rental home while you are out and about. Protect the owner's property and your things!
  • Double-check the vacation property to make sure that you've packed all belongings at check-out. Re-check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Record a video to document the condition of the property.
  • Did your group have a excellent vacation? Many rental management companies make it easy for guests to provide feedback. If your rental and/or host was wonderful, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was inoperable and they failed to fix it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
