Rental property booking tips and tricks:

When to book & When to go:

  • The sooner your group can reserve a vacation rental, the easier your search will be. The most desirable properties are reserved very early. Reserving your rental home up to twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to plan and reserve your vacation rental.
  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months along the coast of NC. Reserve your Nags Head rental property in Fall or Spring to get the benefit of warm weather while saving money and avoiding crowds.
  • Property managers sometimes offer discounts for veterans and active duty military. It's always a good idea to check with your host or property manager to see if special offers are available for your group.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners typically offer renters an option to add trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which costs between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed days as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for specifics.
  • Often, management companies supply Nags Head area visitor guides that include money-saving deals, either offered directly by local businesses, or through a relationship with the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.

How to choose and book a perfectrental:

  • Begin by choosing your trip dates and a maximum budget.
  • Note the number bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your family requires. Coralina 12 - Ocean View w\/ Private Pool Near Nags Head Pier - 150 Yds. to Beach has 5 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Nags Head vacation rental search.
  • Precise information about bedrooms and bed counts is normally accessible on booking pages. If you don't see them listed, reach out to the host before you book the vacation home. Remember that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds. You will need to establish what configuration is best for your family.
  • Some rental properties allow pets, but others do not. Acceptable types of dog or cat, size and breeds may be restricted, and additional fees may apply. Ask the property management company about pet restrictions before booking.
  • Are you visiting for a specific event or attraction? If so, use a map search to locate nearby rentals.
  • Suitable accessibility can make or break a vacation for guests with disabilities. Confirm all necessary amenities are available and included before reserving a rental.

Advice for a wonderful stay:

  • Add the property manager's phone number to your smartphone. Take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
  • Property managers are great sources of help! Feel free to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Protect the owner (and your things!) by locking the rental when you are gone, just like you would back home.
  • To ensure that damages are not attributed to your visit, make note of any problem areas when you arrive. Call the property manager immediately to relay any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having the recorded issues and contact attempts will be valuable.
  • Respecting quiet hours and parking restrictions can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. You will increase your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are a terrific source for finding the best local beaches and hangouts.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Locals can usually help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to take kids for a treat, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for crabbing?
  • Re-check the rental property to make sure that you've packed all personal items at check-out. Make sure to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Inspect the rental one final time and scan for damages to contents or the property itself. We advise inspecting the property with the host whenever you can. If the host isn't available, ensure that you take video and pictures of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
  • Did you have a excellent stay? Many rental managers make it easy for customers to provide feedback. If your rental property and/or property manager was great, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was wrong and they failed to address it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
