Tips to get the best Nags Head rental experience:

Getting the best rental value:

  • In the Nags Head area, The earlier you can reserve a home, the better your selection will be. The most desirable properties are reserved early. Reserving your vacation home 6-12 months before your vacation is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental.
  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months in the Nags Head area. To book the most suitable vacation home within budget, we strongly suggest booking in Spring or Fall. You'll benefit from lower rates, better selection, warm weather and the absence of large crowds at the beach and popular Nags Head attractions.
  • Some hosts and property managers offer promotional rates for active duty military and veterans. It's always a good idea to check with your host or property manager to see if special discounts are available for your group.
  • Booking websites usually offer guests an option to obtain trip insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for specifics.
  • Look for your local Nags Head visitors guide upon arrival. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great local articles, visitors guide magazines have money saving offers on nearby accommodations, restaurants and tours.

Planning and picking your Nags Head rental:

  • Begin by choosing your a vacation week and a spending budget.
  • Note the number bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your group needs. Charming Spacious Bungalow. Close to Beach. Clean. Lots of thoughtful extras! has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
  • Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed types is generally available on booking websites. If you don't see them listed, call the property owner before you book the vacation home. Note that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds and bunks.
  • If your group is bringing pets, you'll need to find a pet-friendly rental. Make sure to ask for details on breed, weight, and type requirements. Some property managers charge pet deposits and fees.
  • If there's a particular Nags Head beach you love, look for homes that are either near by, or those that cater to your needs.
  • Suitable accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with disabilities. Confirm all necessary amenities are included before reserving a rental

Advice for your stay:

  • Be sure you get the property manager's contact number and arrival/departure procedures for your .
  • Property managers are there to help! Feel free to ask questions during your stay.
  • Protect the property owner (and your things!) by keeping the rental locked up while you are away, just like you would at home.
  • During arrival, record any issues with the rental property and immediately alert the owner. Record all coorespondence.
  • Be respectful. Often, nearby homes are filled by permanent residents. Respecting quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Residents can often help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to charter a fishing boat, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for BBQ?
  • When it's time to leave, complete a walk-through to confirm you have not leave anything behind. Make sure to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Record a video to document the condition of the property.
  • Did you have a fantastic stay? Many rental websites make it easy for customers to provide comments. If your property and/or property manager was fantastic, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was out of order and they failed to fix it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.
