Our top Rental home booking tips:
Finding the best rental home value:
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months in coastal NC. To find the best value, try changing your family's Nags Head trip dates to the Spring or Fall shoulder seasons. May, September, and October offer excellent temperatures, less crowded beaches, and greatly reduced traffic. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Nags Head vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with loved ones at the beach.
- The earlier you can book a rental home, the better your selection will be. The best properties are booked very early. Reserving your vacation home six - twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to plan and book your rental.
- Some hosts and property managers offer discounts for active duty military and veterans. Make sure to check with your host or property manager to see if discounts are available for your family before you book.
- Management companies and individual rental owners often offer customers an option to buy vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which costs between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed vacation time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for specifics.
- Find a copy of your local Nags Head visitors guide magazine when you check-in. If your rental doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great local information, visitor guide magazines contain discounts for nearby tours and attractions.
Choosing the best vacation home:
- Select a group lead, choose your vacation week, and select a max budget.
- Determine how many beds and the configuration your group needs. BEACH GETAWAY! Walk to beach. Hot tub, close to shops, dogs allowed has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Nags Head rental home search.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is usually available on booking pages. If you don't see them listed, email or call the host before reserving the rental. Remember that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds in living rooms.
- Are you visiting for a specific attraction or event? If so, use a map search to locate nearby properties.
- Proper accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. .
- If your group is traveling with pets, search for a pet-friendly property. Get information on breed, size, and type requirements. Often, property managers charge pet deposits and fees.
Tips to have a terrific stay:
- Put the host's information in your smartphone and wallet.
- To make sure no damages are attributed to your stay, record any problem areas during check in. Make contact with the rental manager right away to record any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having a record of issues and contact attempts will be very helpful.
- Hosts are available to help! Feel free to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay more pleasurable. You will magnify your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are a fantastic source for finding the best local beaches.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Local residents can frequently help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to launch your kayaks, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for shopping?
- Lock your vacation home while you're away. Keep your property safe!
- Upon check-out, take a walk-through to make sure you didn't forget any personal items. Check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Did your group have a fantastic time? Many rental managers make it easy for customers to provide comments. If your rental property and/or host was terrific, they would love to hear it. If anything was imperfect and they failed to correct it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
