Bodie Island tends to cause a lot of confusion, for both the pronunciation of its name as well as its precise location. This small strip of the Outer Banks doesn't get a lot of attention, and most North Carolina visitors simply pass through the area on their way to or from the Hatteras and Ocracoke Island resort towns, or make a quick stop for an up-close-and-personal view of the Bodie Island Lighthouse.
For over 20 years, this curvy, soundside go-kart track has been creating fun family racing memories. Nags Head Raceway offers single-seat karts for drivers 58 inches and above, double seat karts for drivers 16 and above with one passenger less than 58 inches --- perfect for a parent to take a child for a ride----and junior karts for kids between 46 and 58 inches. Family and friends can cheer for their favorite driver from one of two observation decks. There are also gas powered bumper cars for drivers 40-inches and above and an arcade to cool off in between races.
