Tricks and tips to get the perfect rental experience:

How to get the best rental home value:

  • The earlier your group can book, the easier your search will be. The most desirable vacation homes are booked early. Reserving your rental six - twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental property.
  • Booking your vacation rental in Spring or Fall is our best tip for saving money on your rental home. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of acceptable homes.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager if your group qualifies for a special promotion or discount.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners typically offer customers an option to add vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which normally will cost between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed days as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for specifics.
  • Find a copy of your local Nags Head visitors guide magazine upon arrival. If your rental property doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great articles, visitors guides have discounts for local accommodations, restaurants and tours.

Planning and choosing the rightrental:

  • Select a group lead, choose your vacation week, and choose a budget.
  • Decide how many bedrooms and the configuration your family needs. One of These Nights: Ocean views, private pool & hot tub, rec room & elevator! has 12 bedrooms and 13 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our vacation rental search.
  • Precise details about bedrooms and bed types is generally accessible on booking websites. If you don't see them listed, reach out to the host before booking your home. Note that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which usually includes pull-out couches.
  • Traveling with pets? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Make sure to ask before booking, and study your rental agreement! Additional pet fees or charges applied to your agreement.
  • If there's a particular Nags Head destination you simply love, look for properties that are either nearby, or those that cater to your requirements.
  • Proper accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for guests with disabilities. .

Tips to have a smooth stay:

  • Put the host's information in your smartphone.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a hot tub, elevator or WIFI setup. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief telephone call can prevent quite a few difficulties.
  • Lock your rental property while you are out! Don't let crooks ruin your vacation.
  • To make certain no damages are attributed to your family's stay, note any problem areas during check in. message the host right away to relay any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute, having the recorded issues and contact attempts will be very helpful.
  • Respecting quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You'll enhance your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors can be a great resource to find the best local restaurants, beaches, and hangouts.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Residents can typically help. Who better to ask where to find the fresh catch of the day, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for shopping?
  • Re-check the property to make sure that you've packed all of your family's items on check-out day. Re-check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Inspect the property a final time and look for any damage. We recommend inspecting the property with the property manager whenever possible. If the property manager is not available, take photographs of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
  • Did your family have a terrific time? Many rental managers make it easy for clients to provide reviews. If your property and/or host was great, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was imperfect and they failed to correct it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
