A public beach with picnic shelters and bath houses. Located within the Cape Hatteras National Seashore
controlled area, eight miles south of the U.S. 158 on The remains of the shipwreck of the Laura Barnes, which went down in 1921 are located at the site. Other shipwrecks lie along the beaches, but are not always visible due to shifting sands. Related sites: Shipwrecks
